Pau Gasol made his return from a concussion by coming off the bench for the Los Angeles Lakers last night.  He was being eased back into game-action after missing more than a week with the injury.  Gasol suffered the concussion when he took an inadvertent elbow to the face on January 5th. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, Gasol was cleared to play yesterday as expected.  The team was cautious with his return as the NBA, like other sports leagues, has added emphasis on head injury treatment.  After being cleared, it was announced that Gasol would come off the bench. Gasol's return came at a time when the Lakers were taking on the league's best.  The Miami Heat have the best record in the NBA, in stark contrast to the Lakers who are struggling to get back to .500.  Los Angeles has some work to do to get back into the playoff picture.Gasol's season has had it's ups and downs, but the veteran forward is hoping to contribute more consistently going forward.  He has battled injuries throughout the 2012-13 season.  So far this year, Gasol is averaging 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? • Everybody makes a big deal about La Queen Jane scoring 38 points on the Lakers. My grand-ma could have done the same after the refs opened the lane so he could get all those easy lay-ups and his only shot,slam-dunk.30 points he scored on layups and slamdunks.Whenever Gasol touched him,Baldy Crawford was there to give him free throws. What the Lakers or any team that playes the Heat need to do is when La Queen Jane drives the lane,FOUL HIM,not by just trying to knock the ball from his hands, put an elbow across his nose and drop him,in other words give him a real foul. The refs give this wannabe to much slack as if they are afraid of him or they are getting something else in return. If the Lakers don"t give him those easy lay-ups,he might score 10 points.
