Jason Kidd already stated that Deron Williams may miss the start of the season.
Williams progression from his ankle injury is going slower than expected but that doesn’t concern Paul Pierce. The future hall of famer just doesn’t want Williams to rush back.
“Why come back when you’re only 75, 80 percent? Then you come back and you go back down to 50 percent,” Pierce said. “We’d rather see a guy take all the rest that he needs and get to 100 percent so he’s ready to go.”
Pierce understands the season is a marathon and not a sprint. Brooklyn feels if they’re 100 percent come playoff time, they have as good a shot as anybody to win a championship.

Last night Dujour Magazine graciously invited More Than Stats to help them welcome NBA star Paul Pierce and his family to Brooklyn with a fantastic red carpet event at The Palm-Tribeca restaurant. The event also celebrated Dujour Magazine’s recent spread and interview with Paul. With a packed-house, and Paul’s teammates Deron William and Alan Anderson in attendance, the...
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will wait until the regular season to play in Boston.
The two former Celtics will skip the Brooklyn Nets' preseason game in Boston on Wednesday, as expected. Pierce had said since the pair was acquired over the summer that he didn't want his first game back in Boston to be an exhibition.
The first regular-season meeting between the teams in...
The Knicks may at some point this season get to the point where they’re playing at the same level or better than the team was last year when it finished with the second best record in the Eastern Conference.
But the lack of frontcourt depth is likely to cause some trouble at least in the early portion of the season.
Amar’e Stoudemire is unlikely to be ready for opening night...
In his story about the new verbal battle between LeBron James, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski unleashes this: Allen had his reasons, and they’re well-documented. In the end, Doc Rivers could no longer get Garnett and Pierce to recruit Allen to stay, sources told Yahoo. Neither player would call Allen, and only Pierce could be counted upon to even text...
Paul Pierce has seen it happen.
He played on one of those teams that started as potential and turned into potent, the 2007-08 Celtics winning 66 games and an NBA championship in the first season after Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen joined him in Boston.
Now Pierce and Garnett play for the Brooklyn Nets, whose roster is even more accomplished - and certainly more expensive - than those...
Boston fans will have to wait until January 26th to show their appreciation for both Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
Kidd made his final decision to sit the future hall of famers out yesterday.
“As of right now, those two won’t play in Boston,” Kidd said. “They’ll play in the final (preseason) game (in Miami on Friday).”
Both Pierce and Garnett will most likely get a big...
Tonight, DuJour Magazine hosted a cover party for Paul Pierce welcoming the new Brooklyn Net and his wife to New York at The Palm-Tribeca.
Guests included fellow Nets Alan Anderson and Deron Williams, Page Six’s Richard Johnson, former Mets closer John Franco and DuJour CEO/Founder and very excitable event host Jason Binn.
If it sounds like a New York high society gathering, you’re...
Jason Kidd confirmed Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will miss the Brooklyn Nets' preseason game against the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday.
Pierce and Garnett were traded by the Celtics to the Nets in the offseason.
The two former Celtics led Boston to the 2008 NBA championship and were widely believed to skip their return games in the exhibition season.
The Nets hired Jason Kidd as a rookie head coach this summer less than 10 days after his retirement from a Hall of Fame career that lasted 19 seasons.
Brooklyn’s front office wasn’t exactly camped out on Kidd’s doorstep however waiting to pounce once he technically became available. No it was Kidd who reached out through his agent to Nets’ brass to see if there might be...
Jason Kidd retired from the NBA after the New York Knicks were eliminated from the playoffs last season and then quickly was hired as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
"it's been a great transformation from player to coach," said Kidd.
Kidd appears to be taking a CEO approach to the job, similar to Larry Bird's tenure as head coach of the Indiana Pacers.
The Boston Celtics Post Game Show premiers Wednesday night with a PRE game edition. The Celtics preseason finale is the CLNS crews' season premier. Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett will not be on-premise, however your CLNS personalities will be. Wednesday's hosts are Matt Rury and Nick Gelso. Show will start at 6 pm, EST. As always, we will be taking your calls throughout and...
When the Boston Celtics parted with Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett in a blockbuster trade, they were left with a huge rebuilding job focused on three areas.
Those are offense, defense and patience.
Throw in the departure of coach Doc Rivers and the arrival of NBA neophyte Brad Stevens as his replacement and the 17-time NBA champions face a bleak future.
Pierce and Garnett are with...
Terry spent the 2012-13 season with Boston before heading over to Brooklyn in "The Trade"
The Brooklyn Nets haven't played since last Thursday (a home win vs the Miami Heat) and don't play again until Wednesday (in Boston versus the Celtics). However, that doesn't mean new developments and news surrounding the team stop in any way.
This week was probably a bit emotional for many Celtics fans, as our current Celtics roster traveled to Brooklyn, where former captain Paul Pierce had to play against his old team for the first time. As bizarre a sight it was for Celtics fans to see The Truth in anything but green and white, it was probably much weirder for Pierce himself as he lined up against his old team.
No Doc Rivers, no Kevin Garnett, no Paul Pierce, no problem? After losing some of the past decade’s most polarizing NBA figures, the question is can these new look Celtics still make the playoffs? 2012-13 Record: 41-40, 3rd in Atlantic Division, 7th in Eastern Conference 2012-13 Finish: 1st round loss to the New York Knicks […]
