Paul Pierce scored 34 points and point guard Rajon Rondo had a spectacular triple-double as the host Boston Celtics held off visiting the New York Knicks 115-111 in overtime for their fourth consecutive victory. Rondo scored 18 points, handed out 20 assists and grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds for his second triple-double in three games and fourth of the season as the Celtics beat...
When I left the Garden back on Feb. 3rd, I was certain that the Celts/Knicks game I had just witnessed was the most entertaining of the year so far (Boston won 91-89). And then Sunday happened. As Paul Pierce pulled up for that off balance three with seven seconds left, I figured it had no chance, and that the game was over. But somehow it rattled in, the building exploded...
I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from New York.
"I don’t know if that’s execution, that’s having a horseshoe up your rear," D'Antoni said of the game-tying three-pointer. "That’s what Paul Pierce does."
If you were watching today's Knicks-Celtics tilt from Boston, you saw a back and forth game with last-minute lead changes, clutch buckets from big names (Lin! Garnett! 'Melo! Pierce! 'Melo! Pierce!), and a Celtics win in overtime. Paul Pierce hit the game-tying three to force the extra time, Rajon Rondo had a triple double for the ages (18-17-20 is crazy, even for an...
It could be a very telling week for the Los Angeles Clippers, who are in the thick of a six-game road trip and are, no doubt, riding a high after beating the Houston Rockets, 105-103, in overtime on Sunday.
But this is not about the Clippers being 2-1 on their current stretch or living up to their "Lob City" hype with the Chris Paul-to-Blake Griffin connection. Instead...
Rajon Rondo was historically, triple-doubly magnificent, Kevin Garnett continued to rack up double-doubles from his new home at the center position, and Paul Pierce appeared carrying a torch that lit the TD Garden crowd alive and avoided a head-scratching, “how-on-earth-did-they-lose-that-game?” defeat. The key wasn’t that each is capable of reaching into his tool bag and...

The Boston Celtics (19-17) beat the New York Knicks (18-19) 115-111, today at the TD Garden in Boston, MA.
A game that got away from the Knicks as Paul Pierce knocked down a game tying three-pointer in the 4th quarter to send the game into OT.
Then the Celtics won the game in overtime which you can see coming once they tied it up at the end of 2nd half.
The Celtics overcame a lackluster 1st half effort to beat the Knicks and remain undefeated since the All Star break. Rondo had his second triple double of the week with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 20 assists. Yes, you read that right. It's a Rondoful world and if you don't like it too bad.
Of course the Celtics would've lost the game without Paul Pierce's...
At the beginning of the season I was more than sure there needed to be a drastic change for our Celtics. The team´s performance was atrocious and more importantly: the soul of the team was nowhere to be found. Our defense was one of the worst in the league and teams abused us on a regular basis.
It was a heartbreaking period for Celtics fans.
The state of our Big Three was very...
POINTS OF INTEREST
Boston is a very good defensive team. They allow the 3rd lowest points per game in the NBA.
Balanced attack but cannot keep up with us on transition game.
Rondo's name is in trade rumors.
KEYS TO THE GAME
Should be interesting to see how our Knicks take on the Celtics now that we're back at full strength.
* Limit Paul Pierce who is very efficient...
“Team Streak” otherwise known as the Boston Celtics won their fourth straight game on Sunday, however it was a battle to the finish as the New York Knicks took them to overtime before the Celtics sent their fans at the “New Garden” in a good mood, as their club prevailed by a final margin of 115-111. Paul Pierce led the way for the home town team with a game high 34 points...
