The Majors Detroit:
If the Pistons want any early indication on how they stack up against premier NBA teams, they got it tonight and it wasn’t pretty.
After trailing by 27 points at the half the Pistons went on to lose big to the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat 105-78 from the American Airlines Arena in South Beach.
Greg Monroe and second year guard Brandon Knight were the only Pistons who scored in double figures. Monroe had 15 points but only two rebounds while Knight added 12 points and four assists.
Aside from the lopsided defeat, the Pistons suffered another loss as veteran swingman Corey Maggette left the game after playing only 2:07 with a calf strain. He never returned and it’s unclear how much time he’ll actually miss.
Dwyane Wade led Miami with 21 points and five assists while Chris Bosh added 17 points and six rebounds. LeBron James had 13 points and 8 assists.
