As we sit and watch the NBA Playoffs, we can’t help but look at the teams who are missing from the action and what they can do this offseason to make sure they don’t miss the party again in 2014-15. One of those teams are the Toronto Raptors who were in the postseason this year but didn’t make it past the first round. One way they can make it back is to re-sign Kyle Lowry but that’s a lit easier said than done.
Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders writes that the two sides have recently met to discuss a contract and will be looking to work something out over the summer.
It’s a situation to watch to say the least, as Lowry went from being trade bait to an instrumental part of the Raptors nearly eliminating the Brooklyn Nets in the Conference Quarterfinals. Lowry is vital to the team’s success but he’s not someone that if lost would destroy all that was created.

Toronto Raptors: Finding A Starting Small Forward
By Mike Elworth: Owner and Publisher/Hoopstuff…
The Toronto Raptors have an excellent young team and assuming they resign Kyle Lowry, have a very talented Big 3 of DeMar DeRozan, Jonas Valanciunas and Lowry to build around for the long haul. They also have very talented role players in Terrence Ross, Amir Johnson, Patrick Patterson...
Today Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly officially declared it “Raptors Day” in the city of Toronto and coach Dwane Casey and Greivis Vasquez took part in the celebration.
“We’ve been doubting ourselves lately — our static economy, the friction between the downtown and the suburbs, a sense of being overwhelmed by the challenges of our success, the disturbing revelations of our leadership...
Over the years, we’ve come across some interesting birthday cakes made for NBA players or fans and recently, Toronto Raptors forward Amir Johnson got a special one for his 27th birthday.
Amir’s special cake was made by Dee’s Goodies in Toronto, Canada and was made to look like a giant Lego man.
Check out the photo of the creative cake from Amir’s official Instagram account...
A heartbreaking way to end the season. The Raptors began the game playing out of their element. Amir Johnson seemed to be the only guy keeping the Raptors in this game at the half. The crowd gave me shivers! It is is loudest I have ever heard the ACC in my life! They gave the Raptors the energy they needed to persevere down the stretch. Could it have been the experience that outweighed...
Reports in early May claimed the Raps’ wanted to bring back Vince Carter, who started his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors in 1998. He once recorded 27.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game for Toronto. Although the veteran is currently 37 years old, his presence would make a difference...

The Toronto Raptors will have Eric Griffin on their Summer League roster, sources tell RealGM.
Griffin was a late cut last preseason by the Miami Heat after playing for their Summer League team.
Griffin attended Campbell and played this season in Puerto Rico.
Griffin is also interested in picking up with another team for the Orlando Summer League.
When Carter visited the Air Canada Centre this past season with the Mavericks, for the first time the cheers were louder than the boos and Carter became somewhat nostalgic about the Raptors and his impact on basketball in Canada. It is past time to bury the hatchet with the Toronto Raptors most famous player and bring him back to finish his career.
