As we all know, Ray Allen took his talents to South Beach and signed with the Miami Heat. After winning with the Boston Celtics and solidifying the “Big 3″, his traitor-like move to play for the Miami Heat created even more drama. Fans started speculating why he would take less money to join a Boston Celtics rival. Then stories started coming out that Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen had some beef and just flat out hated each other.
According to Sports Illustrated, the drama between the two guards stems all the way back to 2009. Ray Allen told the Miami Herald,
So, I call him [Rajon Rondo] and I told him, ”Hey, they’re supposedly trading us to Phoenix because you and Danny and Doc don’t get along.” So for some reason, I guess he thought that I had something against him, or there were some issues. And I had no issues with him. I won with him.
With Ray Allen opening up and showing his side of the story, this now makes the entire beef between the two guards an exciting one. With the Heat hosting the Boston Celtics tonight for their first game of the season, we can expect some tension between the two teams. Of course the Heat would protect the newly acquired Ray Allen. And of course the Celtics will do everything to make Ray Allen feel like the traitor he is.
