Lamar Odom just isn’t the same if he’s not in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform, and the Lakers also tend to be better with him. So it’s not a complete surprise that both sides could be looking to rekindle their relationship. The Lakers have reached out to Odom, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN reports. While she said it’s hard to know how interested both sides are, the idea is intriguing given Odom’s history with the team. Odom played for the Lakers from 2004 to 2011, a stretch that included two championships as he provided low-post help to supplement the efforts of Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol. When Odom went to the Mavericks in 2011, though, he quickly fizzled, averaging just 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds after averaging double-digit points and nearly double-digit rebounds throughout his career. Odom was back in Los Angeles last season, albeit with the Clippers, but he posted the lowest totals of his career, averaging just 4.0 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Lamar Odom reportedly wants to sign with Lakers

Lamar Odom is an unrestricted free agent and would like to return to the Los Angeles Lakers, according to a report. Hollywood Life (yes, I realize how funny that sounds) says Odom will sign with the Lakers if they offer him a contract. “It’s very close if not already in the works that Lamar is [...]

Lakers Reach Out to Lamar Odom-Kardashian About Coming Back

Might as well hit up Bynum and try to recreate 2010. I assume if Odom wanted to come back, it wouldn’t cost the Lakers much, but if this is their biggest move of the off-season that has to be a bit depressing for Lakers Fans. Lakers have reached out to Lamar Odom, but it been hard to determine how high interest level is on either side thus far. — Ramona Shelburne (@ramonashelburne...

Lakers Reached Out To Lamar Odom

The Los Angeles Lakers have reached out to Lamar Odom to gauge the free agent's thoughts on returning. Odom spent seven seasons with the Lakers, where he was a top contributor on back-to-back champions. Odom averaged 4 points and 5.9 rebounds in 19.7 minutes for the Los Angeles Clippers last season.

Kobe Bryant tweets why he unfollowed Dwight Howard

Kobe Bryant has become a pro at this social media thing. After word began to spread that the Lakers would use the one-time amnesty clause on Metta World Peace, Kobe took to Twitter to share his thoughts.   No game 7 win without Metta! This is a tough day for laker nation #misspeace #newcbacasualty — Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) July 9, 2013   Personally I’d keep Metta and make...

Lakers Won’t Amnesty Pau Gasol

How much does Pau Gasol have left in the tank? We will find out, because the Lakers will need him to play at an All-Star level to even be competitive in the West. If Dwight Howard would have re-signed, he might have been traded or the amnesty clause might have been used on him, but according to ESPN he will be moved to center and expected to play a major role in Mike D’Antoni...

When Kobe Bryant Tweets People Listen...or Read...

Kobe Bryant has not been with the Twitter Universe for long, but in the time that he has been tweeting he has grown quite the following (over 3 million). It's understandable too. When you are the best at what you do people are going to what a piece of you even if it is just clinging to your every word on social media. Keith Allison/Flickr That much was proven...

Report: Lakers will keep Pau Gasol

Now that Dwight Howard is gone, the Los Angeles Lakers will not use their amnesty provision on forward Pau Gasol, reports on Friday. Gasol will now likely slide over from power forward to center, the same position he was in when the 2009

Lakers to amnesty Metta World Peace

Now you can stop wondering if the Lakers will amnesty Kobe Bryant. The team will reportedly use the amnesty clause on Metta World Peace. This move will save the Lakers tax $8.3 million. World Peace wasn’t effective this past season with the Lakers. Which shouldn’t have surprised anyone, considering he had already lost a step in the  ’11-’12 season. World Peace injured his...

Amnestying World Peace is logical move for Lakers

LOS ANGELES Metta World Peace may not be worth the 7.7 million he's due in salary next season. Hes certainly not worth the 19 million payout, including luxury taxes, that keeping him on the books in Los Angeles necessitates. It's simple math. Theres no reason for the Lakers not to use their amnesty provision, which wipes the 33-year-old forwards salary off the teams cap...

Dwight Howard leaves the Los Angeles Lakers for the tax free confines of the Houston Rockets.

I knew the Lakers were doomed when they went all Keith Sweat begging Howard to stay.

Dwight on Kobe: He Never Offered to Teach me How to be a Champion

A lot of he said, she said at this point so you decide who you want to believe. We reported the news a few days ago of Kobe Bryant’s reported very direct message to Dwight Howard during the Lakers meeting while he was a free agent. Bryant let it be known that Dwight didn’t know [...]

If amnestied by the Lakers, Metta World Peace only wants to play for a few select teams

Yesterday, reports surfaced that Lakers forward Metta World Peace would be amnestied. And though the news isn’t quite official, teammate Kobe Bryant went ahead and voiced his displeasure about the move.A day later we’re all at the point that it’s a foregone conclusion that World Peace will be amnestied, so now it’s time to discuss where World Peace could land. As usual Sam...

World Peace unaware Howard was leaving?

Admit it, virtually all basketball fans wish they could have been a fly on the wall when Kobe Bryant learned that Dwight Howard was taking his talents to Houston. Well, we may never know exactly how Bryant reacted to the news, but we may have the next best thing — Metta World Peace getting the word. World Peace was leaving Mastro’s in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Sunday night, when...
