According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Oklahoma City Thunder assistant, Mo Cheeks, is the frontrunner to be the next Pistons head coach. Oklahoma City Thunder assistant Mo Cheeks has emerged as the strong frontrunner to become the Detroit Pistons’ head coach, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Discussions on a contract could begin soon, league sources said. Detroit’s ownership and management reached a consensus on Cheeks as their choice, league sources said.

Maurice Cheeks is engaged in contract negotiations with the Detroit Pistons and could be named head coach by Sunday, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the talks.
