The Philadelphia 76ers Michael Carter-Williams may be ruining their plan on tanking the season.  The rook finished the game with a record setting 9 steals for a player in his first NBA game. The rest of his stat line was just as amazing (and he did it against the defending champs, Miami Heat).  Carter-Williams finishes with 22 points 12 assists (second most in NBA history for a first game) and 7 rebounds and helped the Sixers top the Heat 114-110. Michael did it in front of a legendary crowd as well.  Former 76er legends Allen Iverson, Charles Barkely, Julius Erving and Moses Malone were all in attendance to watch the Sixers upend the two time-two time defending champs.   Philly retired Allen Iverson’s number Wednesday night and Michael Carter-Williams’ 9 steals tied none other than AI for the most in 76er history.   Last Sixer w/ double-double in @Nba debut? Maurice Cheeks in 1978 (10 PTS, 11 AST). @Mcw1 had 22 PTS, 12 AST, 9 STL, 7 REB, 1 TO. — Philadelphia 76ers (@Sixers) October 31, 2013 17 total views, 17 views today
