Jodie Meeks has been great so far this season. It really looks like Meeks worked on his game over the summer and is no longer just a spot-up three-point shooter. It appears that teams around the league have noticed Meeks’ improvement, especially the Memphis Grizzlies, who according to Ric Bucher, recently proposed a Meeks for Jerryd Bayless swap: The Memphis Grizzlies are clearly looking to shake up their roster. While the Zach Randolph-to-New Orleans rumors were dismissed by a league source, a Lakers source says they were offered a swap of scoring guards, Jerryd Bayless for Jodie Meeks. Meeks is having a career year and is currently averaging 12.8 points per game while shooting 41 percent from deep, while Bayless is averaging just 7.9 points and 2.0 assists per game and is making just 27 percent of his shots from three-point range. The Lakers do need point guard help, though I’m not so sure this deal would be all that appetizing to them seeing as Meeks has been one of the team’s best players so far this season. Bayless makes more than Meeks – though his contract expires this coming summer, just like Jodie’s – so the Lakers would have to add another contract if they wanted to go ahead with this deal. Rumors: Lakers not prepared to offer Carmelo Anthony a max contract?

The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling right now. They’ve lost two straight games that have ended in blowouts and are decimated by injuries. However, the 2014 off-season is just six months away and the Lakers are set to have enough cap space to land a max level free agent when July rolls around. For this reason, many Lakers fans and media pundits have been expecting the purple and...

Mike D’Antoni to discouraged Lakers fans: ‘Find another team to root for’

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni says “find another team to root for” if you’re discouraged with the Lakers’ 13-15 start to the season. “Why would I be discouraged?” D’Antoni said, per “We’re fighting with a bunch of good guys that played well before, and they’ll play [well] again. If [the fans] are discouraged, then, you know, find...

Home Before The Holidays: Grizzlies 104 Jazz 94

Jerryd Bayless was huge for the Grizzlies off the bench, going for 17 points including 4 3-pointers. Photos courtesy of Warren Roseborough. As poorly as the Grizzlies have played during the month of December, the team must be grateful for ANY wins, and specifically a two-game winning streak with wins at New York Knicks and back home against the Utah Jazz. And yet, with both of those...

Nick Young is officially the Lakers’ marquee player

For a team that features Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash, whoever thought Nick Young would become the Los Angeles Lakers’ most marketable player? No way anyone would have seen that coming. A friend pointed out that on the NBA’s Instagram account, the league posted a promo Tuesday for the big Christmas day game […]

NBA Report: Lakers coach claims 'I was an idiot' for fan speech

Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni was a real Grinch, and now he says he's sorry.   Following a loss at Phoenix on Monday, D'Antoni delivered a message to Lakers fans who may be feeling a little discouraged. "If they're discouraged, then find another team to root for," he told reporters in Phoenix after a 107-90 spanking. "We're not going to...

D'Antoni Apologizes For Comments To Lakers' Fans

Mike D'Antoni apologized for suggesting discouraged fans of the Los Angeles Lakers "find another team to root for." "I was an idiot last night," D'Antoni said. "I was out of my mind. I was ticked off. We didn't play well and I said some stuff I shouldn't have. It was stupid. That's me, I just made a mistake." The Lakers have a 13...

Game Report: Lakers (13-15) lose to Suns (17-10) 117-90

The Lakers looked lost for the entire second half as they got blown out for a second game in a row, this time by the Phoenix Suns 117-90. For the second outing in a row, the Lakers’ lack of a point guard began to take its toll.  The shocking number to prove it? 12 assists and 11 turnovers.  Even the worst teams don’t average less than 18 assists per game.  The Lakers also...

Grizzlies struggling without Gasol's presence

Life without Marc Gasol has been difficult for the Memphis Grizzlies. Now a franchise that was one step from the NBA Finals last season is fighting to stay out of the Western Conference basement, with a 12-15 record and a seemingly endless list of injuries. That's one reason the team's current two-game winning streak - including Monday's 104-94 victory over Utah Jazz...

Randolph, Bayless help Grizzles top Jazz

Zach Randolph scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Jerryd Bayless added all of his 17 points in the second half and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Utah Jazz 104-94 on Monday night. Memphis (12-15) has won two in the row after losing a season-high five straight. Bayless hit two 3-pointers in a row, one at the end of the third quarter and the other at the beginning of the fourth...

Mike D’Antoni Suggests Disgruntled Lakers Fans Should ‘Find Another Team to Root For’

Remember two summers ago, when the Lakers loaded up on free agent around Kobe Bryant with the hopes of challenging the Heat for the NBA title? Well, nearly a season and half has gone by, and one of the proudest franchises in league history continues to toil away in mediocrity. Dwight Howard bolted for Houston after just one year in Los Angeles, and with Bryant and Steve Nash both...

Jordan Farmar Cleared To Return to Lakers

Jordan Farmar has been cleared to return to the Los Angeles Lakers. Farmar had an ultrasound on Tuesday that showed his injured hamstring is fully healed. Farmar missed an extended part of this season due to injury.

Grizzlies 104, Jazz 94

Even without Marc Gasol and Tayshaun Prince in the Grizzlies lineup, Jazz coach Ty Corbin knew what awaited his team tonight at FedExForum. "It’s going to be a hard-fought ball game," Corbin said before the game. "They’re going to be physical. They still have that in them." They showed it Monday as they beat up on the Jazz, 104-94. Memphis forward Zac Randolph...

LeBron James is giving out dunks against the Lakers for Christmas

LeBron James was giving out highlight-reel dunks against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day. An off-the-glass alley-oop dunk was the biggest present of them all.
