Sam Cassell Jr seemed to be the kind of kid who had basketball coursing through his veins and it would have been fun and satisfying to see him develop. While not official, it's not looking good. Cassell it's unlikely that Cassell will go to a junior college and remain committed to Maryland. He'll likely transfer to a school that allows for "partial qualifiers".

The loss will be minimized, of course, if Dez Wells is given a waiver to play this year for Maryland. I have no idea what that even means but it basically means he's gone unless the NCAA reverses its predicted course.
It's Dez or bust at this point.
