As the Oklahoma City Thunder continue to run to an NBA championship, the city of Seattle is still without an NBA franchise and one local television station is refusing to mention the Thunder during their telecast. KIRO-TV in Seattle during game highlights are referring to the Thunder as “Former Sonics” and below are screen grabs from recent telecasts showing the score bugs with that title: Lmfao, Kiro 7 on the game the other night "former sonics" pic.twitter.com/1CaC9VbZrH — Samantha Peltier ❁ (@sampelteeezy) May 5, 2014 So uhhh, the Seattle news won't recognize the Thunder… pic.twitter.com/5l3imqAmfr — SportsNation (@SportsNation) May 7, 2014 Honestly, there wasn’t a more apt time to say, “Bring Back Our Sonics”. *** Sonics image courtesy of Getty Images
