PLAYERS: Charles Barkley

Shaquille O’Neil is a likable guy for the most part. He’s always been entertaining in front of a mic, and he’s always been a jovial, over-the-top character of sorts. Because of this, I, along with most of you I suspect, was rather excited that Shaq was going to be joining the cast of the NBA on TNT. He seemed like a natural addition to the cast. Shaq and Charles Barkley on live television together? Let the hijinx ensue! Well, Shaq accidentally dropped one of those words you’re not supposed to use, on air. Watch the video after the jump.

Here’s to hoping Shaq drops a few more bombs on live television. Anyone else having thoughts of Lee Corso’s “f*ck it” moment form earlier this year? Thought so.

Barkley on Tebow: 'The national nightmare continues'

Charles Barkley may be in the process of slimming down his waistline thanks to his Weight Watchers scam, but there's one thing a diet won't cure -- his big mouth. The Round Mound of Rebound is back at it, and this time he's flapping his gums about what else, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Deadspin points out that Barkley made a radio appearance on 97.5 the Fanatic...

Video: Shaq cusses on-air during studio show

This is Shaq on the TNT set, heading into a break, clearly not learning from Charles Barkley's mistake. The S-bomb comes right at the end... with Kenny Smith knowing right away that the MIC IS ALWAYS HOT!!!!   Let's be honest, you're surprised it took this long for it to happen. Personally, I'm surprised it happened by accident. [follow]

Video: Shaq struggles with math

Normally on Inside the NBA, Charles Barkley is the one having issues with mathematics but last night, Shaquille O'Neal made a little bit of mathemagical error. It all started when Dwight Howard broke the single game free throw attempt record against Golden State and the crew dug up that Shaq had taken the same amount in the playoffs.Shaq went 18/39 (46.15%) but thought that he...

Charles Barkley says LeBron James doesn’t have “an aggessive personality”

You can always count on Charles Barkley giving you an honest opinion. So when he was asked to give an assessment about LeBron James, Barkley didn’t hold back. The Heat suffered a 111-106 overtime loss to the Warriors last night, despite holding a 17-point advantage in the second half. The game was Dwyane Wade’s first after sitting out the previous three because of a sore foot...

Barkley scoffs at idea of Knicks being contender

Charles Barkley is certainly not impressed with the New York Knicks. In fact, the Hall of Famer nearly laughed at the notion of the Knicks being a contender. "They're not very good," Barkley said on ESPN New York 1050's "The Mike Lupica Show." "Well, let's see: they don't play defense, they don't rebound the ball and they don't have...

Barkley: LeBron is Too Nice

It has been weeks since Charles Barkley said anything critical of the Miami Heat, but our long national nightmare is now over. The Round Mound of Rebound appeared on ESPN Radio's Waddle & Silvy Show on Wednesday and revived his favorite pastime: taking LeBron James down a peg. Perhaps beating a dead horse is part of an exercise plan to complement his Weight Watchers endorsement...

D’Antoni dismisses loudmouth Barkley

OKLAHOMA CITY — Mike D’Antoni said he could not care less about Charles Barkley’s TNT rant against him. The rotund broadcaster blamed D’Antoni’s easy coaching style for rookie point guard Iman Shumpert’s out-of-control game Thursday in Memphis.Shumpert shot 3 of 15 in the first half...

Wednesday Morning Live: Barkley questions LeBron

Fresh off his appearance on "Saturday Night Live," Charles Barkley changed mediums Wednesday, but continued with a familiar theme: LeBron James as passive superstar.

Barkley on Tebow’s Big Win: “National Nightmare Continues”

Charles Barkley has been here before. Calling out the national media, and America in general for the insane hype and romanticizing of Tim Tebow. Previously, he asked the Chicago Bears to stop this madness. The non-stop publicity bullet train that seems to only be getting faster. Now Barkley, the new Weight Watchers pitchman and co-host on TNT’s “Inside The NBA,” has taken...

Shaq Drops S-Bomb on TNT (Video)

Shaq learned his lesson about microphones the hard way: never cuss when you’re around one. You can’t trust that they’re off and not picking up sound. When Shaq thought his mic was off and the TNT crew was headed to commercial, he dropped an s-bomb that was still picked up and aired on TV. Of course, any company that prominently features Charles Barkley and all his antics surely...

VIDEO: Shaq Forgets He’s on Live TV, Says a Dirty Word That Rhymes With Sh*t

Not only does it rhyme with sh*t, it was sh*t.  Hey, you knew Shaq would slip-up and swear on-air eventually, so it was probably best to get it out of the way early.  Hard to blame Shaq for dropping the word sh*t as the TNT pregame show went to commercial and not realizing it would get picked up on live TV.  First of all he’s not used to being mic’d up for that long, and...

Two Weeks In, And Shaq Is Already Swearing

Check out this clip from Inside the NBA tonight, where Shaq slips up and says **** before the cut to commercial is actually complete. This just adds to the legend of Shaq as a studio analyst, who is already developing quite a rapport with Charles Barkley on the panel. We had high hopes for Shaq coming into the year when TNT released this teaser ad for him joining Inside the NBA...

Atlanta Hawks at Pacers: Game thread

Indianapolis–At shootaround Tracy McGrady said he was feeling good. Not so much tonight: He’s a late scratch with back spasms. It wasn’t announced until after the locker room was closed to media types so don’t have details. Danny Granger (ill) and George Hill (back) are active for the Pacers after missing Monday’s 96-86 loss at Philly. Yes, Larry Drew showed the players...
