Sportress of Blogitude:
Throughout his multiple stops during his erratic NBA career, current Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley has always been looked upon as a player with untapped potential. He also frequently has been looked upon as something of an oddball, an eccentric man with a lot of talent.
That makes Beasley’s recent comments about “gremlins” interfering with his free throw attempts not at all surprising. Yep. Gremlins.
Beasley, who finished the game with a double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds), albeit in Phoenix’s 102-90 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, missed his first two free throws of the night. After the second miss, Beasley could be seen strolling down the lane, looking up at the rim he just clanked his free throws off and shook his head. Explaining the somewhat perplexing act afterward, Beasley told reporters: “I had to scare the gremlins away,” adding, “Those gremlins are always messing with me.”

Phoenix Suns forward Michael Beasley has converted over 75% of the free throws he has taken in his nearly five-year career, so when he misses more than one or two in a game you can understand why he might be frustrated. During his team’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, Beasley went 3-for-6 from the charity stripe. He was left searching for answers. After missing...
PHOENIX -- If fans of the Phoenix Suns are looking for some positive spin during this season of bitter karma, we offer the Oklahoma City Thunder as evidence of what can happen.

Tweet Kevin Durant is one of the top players in the NBA, and again making a run at the MVP award this season as well as delivering highlight-reel plays on a nightly basis. Monday evening Phoenix Suns center Marcin Gortat became a victim of Durant’s wrath on this vicious and-1 dunk: Durant finished the game [...]
OKC’s Kevin Durant lit up Marcin Gortat during the fourth quarter in Monday night’s showdown. Durant drives the lane and Gortat, bless his heart, is between him and the basket. Now Marcin Gortat will be “the guy who got posterized by Durant that one time”.

Michael Beasley has lost some of his playing time with the Phoenix Suns to P.J. Tucker.
KD’s hesitation dribble might have been better than the dunk.
What do you get when you add Thunder's Kevin Durant, Suns' Marcin Gortat, and a clear path to the rim with Durant with the ball? You get quite possibly the dunk-of-the-year by KD.
Late in the fourth quarter with OKC up big on the Suns, Durant blows past Michael Beasley en route to the rim with only Gortat in his way. Well, it didn;t take much for KD to elevate and throw...
Kevin Durant puts Marcin Gortat on a poster for his 40th point in Monday night’s victory over Phoenix:
There’s a laundry list of things I like about the dunk that Kevin Durant sent home over the top of Marcin Gortat last night. First of all, I like that Gortat is seven feet tall, 240 pounds. That’s a big damn Pole to be smashing on with such authority. In addition, I like that Durant took off from the dotted line, that he drew enough body contact to warrant a whistle, and...
