Found February 20, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, Terrence Williams is expected to make his debut for the Boston Celtics tonight as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers. Williams signed a 10-day contract with Boston on Monday. Washburn reports that the Celtics received Williams’ letter of clearance last night and he will be eligible to play on Wednesday night. There is no guarantee that he plays tonight, it’ll be Boston head coach Doc Rivers’ decision. However, you’d think that considering Williams contract is only for ten days that Boston will want to see as much of him as possible in order to determine if they’ll keep him long term. Celtics shopping Pierce for expiring contracts and draft picks

Should Pierce get traded, the 27 point comeback vs. the Nets in 2002 will always be my favorite Truth moment Accoring to Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, the Celtics are shopping Captain Paul Pierce, but a move remains unlikely because of what they are looking for. Boston shopping Pierce, but not just looking to offload him. Asking for expiring contracts and draft picks. Move...

Rumors: Wolves interested in Bradley and Lee; C’s shopping Fab Melo

According to Doogie Wolfson of, the Wolves are interested in Avery Bradley and/or Courtney Lee: To get Boston’s Avery Bradley, the Wolves would have to sacrifice Derrick Williams and a future first-round pick, according to a league source. That’s not happening. Another name to keep an eye on are Boston’s Courtney Lee, whom Adelman likes, according to a team source...

Comments from the Other Side - Nuggets 2/19

The Celtics hung with the Nuggets in spite of the thin air, being short handed, and taking 20 fewer free throws.   I love all the comments about the number of Celtics fans at the game.  My favorite comments though is the series where one fan wonders if they can ever get a call and another says the officiating is fixed and a third reminds them that the Nuggets had 28 free throws...

Celtics looking for second wind

The Celtics marched into Laker-land with dead feet and tired minds. You could see from the get go that the momentum they had built prior to the all-star break was drying up faster than Kevin Garnett's resolve. We could argue and beat a dead horse about the lack of point guard play, but no one hardly speaks about the elephant in the room.  The very real need for a rugged big...

A Thin Line Between Loyalty and Success

Comcast SportsNet New England’s Jessica Camerato put it bluntly: Whether it’s about KG, Rondo or Fab, no trade rumor should come as surprise. Basketball is a business. Execs have to explore any/all options. It’s something Boston Celtics fans should keep in mind as we close within 24 hours of Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline. Over this past week, Danny Ainge has been one...

NBA tells TMZ that Lil Wayne is not banned from all league events

Over NBA All-Star Weekend, rapper Lil Wayne claimed on stage during a performance in Houston (video below) that the National Basketball Association has banned him from all league events. The allegations stem from Lil Wayne’s assertion that he was kicked out of a Miami Heat-Los Angeles Lakers game at American Airlines Arena on Feb. 10 at the Heat organization’s request because...

Your Morning Dump… Where the C’s might have tried too many things at the deadline

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. One of the obstacles in the way of the Celtics getting more things done is the fact they were looking at so many different types of deals, for now and for the future. Where, for example, Atlanta was mainly focused...

Steve Nash passes Magic Johnson in all-time assists

We thought this little piece of information was interesting considering Steve Nash's struggles this year, the Los Angeles Lakers' struggles, and Nash's leg injury earlier in the season.  The Lakers' point guard has passed another former Lakers' star, Magic Johnson, on the all-time assists list.Nash was able to do so in the third quarter of last night's win...

Lakers Looking To Unload End Of Bench Players For Roster Spots

Steve Blake, Chris Duhon, Devin Ebanks and Darius Morris are available from the Lakers for second round picks.

Steve Nash Passes Magic Johnson To Become 4th On All-Time Assists List (VIDEO)

Steve Nash has been really good for a long time.  If you asked me in 1996 when he was drafted, I would have struggled to believe he would arguably have a better career than Marcus Camby, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, Stephon Marbury, Kerry Kittles and so on. It’s debatable whether or not his career was better than Iverson or Ray Allen.  Last night Nash eclipsed another milestone, when...

Would Tyreke Evans be able to fill the Swagger void left from dealing KG? With the 3 pm trading deadline looming, the Boston Celtics are reportedly making a push to land some help, in the name of Tyreke Evans.  The 23 year old former rookie of the year is posting respectable numbers to the tune of 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while averaging 31.1 minutes per game this...
