There's been alot said about "short term" memory. Which plagues the majority of sports writers today, there problem is they have no reference to the NBA's past. If it didn't happen during the internet age, its insignificant. The 11 best game-winners in NBA playoff history are at there "best" second behind a 63' shot by Jerry West against the Knicks (in there first championship season. Maybe the shot wasn't a game winner at the very least it propelled the Laker's into OT at the "Garden" This was long before the "three point" shot which has hurt the game more than helped it. So please for the long time fans of the NBA, before you make comments about "greatest" anything in the history of the NBA, do two things take a course in "sports history" hopefully they talk about "team" and not about individuals and include all of NBA history when you speak about the "greatest in NBA history" not the most recent. In all honesty there's a gentleman leading the city of Detroit, who in his prime would lay waste to anybody you would like to match him up against. Today's fans don't even know his name, I wonder if you can name him without, the help of a researcher?
