This cinematic masterpiece is titled simply “Amazing”, and by the looks of it – that’s exactly what it is. With equal parts anime, intrigue, love, betrayal, Scottie Pippen, robots, Carmelo Anthony, basketball, virtual reality, hot Asian girls, crazy sci-fi haircuts, inter-continental domination and Dwight Howard – what more could you ask for?

In all reality, I have no idea what this movie is about or why it has two of the games top players and one of the 50 greatest NBA players of all time in it, but to say I’m interested is an understatement. Talk about expanding your brand name, huh? Michael Jordan must be kicking himself for letting Scottie snag this role.

PS – Not to be racist, but wasn’t Jeremy Lin in there somewhere?

Carmelo, other NBA stars appear in film

Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Yi Jianlian and Scottie Pippen all make appearances in an upcoming film out of China entitled Amazing

Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony and Scottie Pippen to Appear in Chinese Film

There will be a few more NBA stars joining the list of players who have left the court to act in movies this summer. First there was Shaquille O'Neal in Kazaam, and Michael Jordan in Space Jam. Ray Allen starred in He Got Game, and even Kevin Durant will be in his own upcoming movie, Thunderstruck. The latest NBA stars to grace the film industry are Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony...

Phil Jackson's Opinion of Knicks Coaching Job Not Surprising Given His History of Considering Factors Beyond Money, Talent

Most of us look at the New York Knicks' head coaching job and see Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire, Jeremy Lin and the glimmer of Madison Square Garden. Phil Jackson likely looks at the same job and sees all of those things, yet none of those things. If Jackson's history teaches us anything, it is that the 13-time champion does not look at a situation and sees its requisite...

GIF of the Week: This was Cute

Anyone remember this little play from a few weeks ago in the Boston and Miami series?  To this day it still baffles me that players at the NBA level still make these mistakes.  I  think I first saw a play like this when Scottie Pippen bounced it offer another player’s ass.  I think it might have been against the Knicks in a playoff game but I’d have to check. Oh yeah and...

A peak inside the Dwightmare

The 2011-12 season was one distraction after another. The basketball never seemed to matter. Everything led back to one unavoidable question: Will the Magic trade Dwight Howard? Brian Schmitz's e-book Dwightmare captures that sentiment, reviewing the random and absurd occurrences that made up the 2011-12 season and how the insanity consumed the Orlando Magic franchise for...

The Magic will introduce a new general manager Thursday afternoon. After an exhaustive search, Orlando selected Rob Hennigan to be the team's general manager, setting a new direction for the franchise. Hennigan comes from the Spurs/Thunder family after starting out as an intern in San Antonio in 2004. He spent the last four years working with Sam Presti in Oklahoma City as...
