Oliver Miller falls under the category of athletes with a ton of talent who just don’t care enough to do what it takes to succeed. The Big O was pushing three bills during his playing days despite being only 6’9″. To put that into perspective, here’s the height and weight of some other so called big men:

Shawn Bradley:  7’6″ – 235 pounds
The Candy Man: 7′ – 269 pounds
Big Baby Davis: 6’9″ – 289 pounds
Big Country Reeves: 7′ – 275 pounds
Khalid El-Amin: 5’10″ – 200 pounds

Any time you can be in a group with Big Country Reeves and Khalid El-Amin you know that you are in good company. By the end of his career the Big O was as mobile as Mike Utley and had the stamina of a high school kid in bed. Had he been able to play 36 minutes per game he would have averaged 11 points, 9 boards, and 2.4 blocks per game. Instead he slothed it up and only averaged 7.5 ppg, 5.9 boards, and 1.5 blocks. Those numbers are as disappointing as ESPN’s choice to have John Sutcliffe be the sideline reporter for the Steelers/49ers Monday Night Football game.

The Big O played for six different teams but amazingly was never traded. For a player that jumped around so much this is a bit of a surprise. Since ending his NBA career he has been in trouble for pistol whipping his girlfriends brother at a family BBQ. Never get between an overweight ex-NBA player and some ribs. Never!

Suns can't score, Gentry not ready to panic

PHOENIX -- The beauty of this edition of the Phoenix Suns' offense is its capacity to transform almost anyone on the roster into an emergency go-to-guy for one night. Well, Warrick and Price...

Raptors Coach Dwane Casey Put 1,300-Pound Boulder in Locker Room to Motivate His Players

What can Redd do for Suns?

Two winding paths of misfortune have led to the intersection of need for the Phoenix Suns and opportunity for Michael Redd. The Suns are limping toward the close of their opening week at 0-2. Redd, whose impressive career has been sidetracked by knee injury, may -- if he's not eventually reduced to limping through the compacted schedule -- be able to help. His signing was announced...

Suns vs. 76ers features promising big men

With the NBA seemingly thin on talent at the center position, Phoenix's Robin Lopez and Philadelphia's Spencer Hawes appeared to be two more big busts after disappointing 2010-11 seasons. Each 7-footer showed in this week's opener he still could end up being a major contributor, though only one can help his team get its first victory as the Suns host the 76ers on Wednesday...

Redd signs contract with the Phoenix Suns

MILWAUKEE Former Bucks guard Michael Redd has signed with the Phoenix Suns. Redd, 32, was limited to just 44 games over the last three seasons due to a pair of serious knee injuries. When he was healthy, however, he was one of the game's better scorers and has a career scoring average of 20 points per game over his 11-year career. Redd was the Bucks second round selection...

Suns drop to 0-2, search to explain offensive struggles

In recent years, the Phoenix Suns have been known for, above all else, having an uptempo and elite offense. Win or lose, and no matter the season’s ultimate result, the team never struggled to score with Steve Nash running a descendant of Mike D’Antoni’s offense. Through two games in this young season, however, offense has…
