Fox Sports Southwest:
OKLAHOMA CITY Oklahoma City assistant coach Mo Cheeks has been named the head coach of the Detroit Pistons, replacing the fired Lawrence Frank.
While the Thunder have not confirmed anything, forward Kevin Durant tweeted a congratulatory note to Cheeks saying, "He will be missed!"
Cheeks just finished his fourth season as the top assistant with the Thunder and should be given credit for the development of guards Russell Westbrook, Eric Maynor and Reggie Jackson.
Before coming to Oklahoma City, Cheeks was the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers for three seasons and seven seasons as the coach at Portland.
Cheeks played 15 seasons in the NBA, the first 11 with the 76ers where he was part of the 1983 championship team. He played for four other teams and was selected to the NBA's All-Defensive Team four times and made the All-Star game four times.

If you are hoping to see Kevin Durant finally say something stupid, this isn’t the case. I say that because anytime an athlete or celebrity does or says something stupid on Twitter or Instagram, their go to excuse was “I was hacked.” It’s the new, “I was drunk” excuse. But it appears as if Durant really was hacked on Instagram, but it does not appear as if anything terrible...
So, okay.1) Kevin Durant made a movie about a magic basketball that causes him to swap talents with an uncoordinated high school student named Brian. It is called Thunderstruck, and it is currently playing a few times a week on HBO. As UPROXX’s resident expert on movies involving stolen basketball talent, I felt it was my duty to watch it.2) It is … not good. But it is also amazing...
Is Lawrence Frank the best available successor? The "Doc Rivers might not be coming back" rumblings just won't go away, and now ESPN's Chris Broussard has got us thinking it could be more reality than rumor. With that in mind, here are some names of potential coaches the Celtics may want to consider if Doc actually does calls it quit. I see three different...
Nearly two months after Lawrence Frank was fired, the Detroit Pistons introduced their new coach - Maurice Cheeks.
The search took awhile because the Pistons have been mediocre for a few years and need this decision to work.
Cheeks becomes the franchise's fourth coach in six seasons - following Frank, John Kuester and Michael Curry. He is the ninth since the 1999-2000 season...

Jay-Z has been racking in the big name athletes to his agency over the last couple months. The newest addition to Roc Nation Sports is reported to be Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant.

After LeBron James’ epic block last night I wanted to compile a few videos showing NBA legends doing their best attempts at shot blocking. Do any of these videos compare to what LeBron was able to do last night? Lets take time of game and importance of the game out of the equatuion and just focus on the player and the block itself. Happy viewing Baconators.
Durant is leaving agent Rob Pelinka to join the likes of Robinson Cano and Victor Cruz, among other athletes, with Jay-Z's sports agency
Much was made of the news from a few months ago that part-owner of the Nets, and massive rap mogul and businessman , Jay-Z, would have to sell his small stake in the team as he transitioned his focus in the NBA from being an owner to...
