Found May 22, 2012 on Celtics Life:
Most Celtics fans will enjoy the fact that the OKC Thunder eliminated the LA Lakers from the playoffs last night, albeit it would have been sweeter if they had been swept for the 2nd year in a row. The TNT crew's "Gone Fishing" segment for the Lakers aired last night after the game, and there is a lot of interesting stuff going on in their Photoshopped fishing trip, including a naked Jeanie Buss, Kobe Bryant in his "White Hot" attire, Metta World Peace in the mouth of a shark, and a scene from Titanic (about 2:40 into the video).

Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers Face a Crossroad

I was surprised by the Lakers this season. I was fairly certain that this year would mark the beginning of a steady decline. Had I done playoff predictions, I probably would have banked on a 6-seed or so, for the Lakers. Turns out I jumped the gun on their demise. The condensed season didn’t have an overly negative impact on their regular season play (you could argue they were...

Gasol-for-Bosh deal a win for Lakers and Heat

When Pau Gasol arrived in Los Angeles five years ago, he was the missing link for the desperately rebuilding Lakers. His passing, vision, skill and selflessness fit seamlessly into Phil Jackson's triangle offense, and suddenly the Lakers were back to being the Lakers feared, loathed and on their way to three straight NBA Finals appearances and back-to-back titles. Now, with...

Lakers' disappointment could lead to makeover

The Los Angeles Lakers are getting used to disappointment. One year after failing to earn a third consecutive NBA title under Phil Jackson, the Lakers again failed to advance beyond the playoffs' second round. Their faith in their talents wasn't really shaken, but it remains to be seen if the roster does get shaken up now. "Definitely underachieved," Lakers...

Andrew Bynum says he can “play anywhere” next season

Andrew Bynum wasn’t really engaged in what would ultimately be the Lakers final game of the 2011-2012 NBA season. Early foul trouble could be the blame but in a closeout game, that’s not an excuse. 10 points and 4 rebounds… you’re an ALL-STAR Sir! In a postgame conversation with TNT’s Craig Sager, Bynum stated that [...]

Lakers hammered, eliminated by Thunder

The Lakers reached the end of the road Monday night in Oklahoma City, advancing just one game further than last season in being ousted again in the second round of the NBA playoffs. The Lakers were blown off the court again, losing the battle of fast-break points by a whopping 30-6 margin in losing the game, 106-90. The Thunder swept Dallas, which eliminated the Lakers in the second...

Mike Brown Jokingly Calls Mike Brown Fat, Says Lakers Were Best Team in NBA

Metta World Peace isn't shy about speaking his mind, but included in some of his recent remarks is something that is surprising for even the man formerly known as Ron Artest to say. The Lakers forward referred to coach Mike Brown as a "fat-ass" -- albeit with a smile -- while talking to reporters about his team's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round...

Eight people shot after OKC series win over Lakers

The Thunder held off 42 points from Kobe Bryant last night to close out the series in 5 games. They now await the red hot San Antonio Spurs. Despite the success of the Thunder, there was tragedy last night following the game. There have been reportedly at least 8 people shot and a pregnant woman [...]

Kobe, Lakers pointing fingers facing elimination

Two of the Lakers' three losses in their Western Conference Semifinals series against the Thunder have come down to key turnovers at inopportune times. The latest was an interesting cross-court pass from Pau Gasol that Kevin Durant intercepted, setting up his go-ahead 3-pointer that proved to be the difference in teh fourth quarter. Gasol, a typically skilled passer, made that...

Oklahoma City police say at least three people were wounded in a shooting in Bricktown following the end of the NBA playoff game between the Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers. Capt. Lisa Camacho says the shootings occurred about 11:30 p.m. Monday in an area of the popular entertainment district east of downtown. Camacho says officers haven't been able to confirm how many people...

From ESPN: Oklahoma City police say at least eight people were shot late Monday blocks from Chesapeake Energy Arena after the NBA playoff game between the Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers. Capt. OKC Thunder Send Lakers Packing, Meaning James Harden Gets Last Laugh Over Metta World Peace

Metta World Peace was punished harshly and justly for his elbow to the head of Thunder guard James Harden last month. Artest's seven-game suspension, however, paled in comparison to the punishment that Harden and the Thunder delivered to Artest and the Lakers in the last couple of weeks. The Thunder sent the Lakers home for the summer on Monday night, dispatching World Peace...
