nashlin Toronto Raptors Will Compete With Knicks For Nash, Lin

It’s no secret that the top priority for the Knicks this off-season is securing a starting point guard. While they’re expected to sign lin in doing just that, they will almost certainly make a push for Steve Nash as well. Amar’e Stoudemire had a point when he said, “Who wouldn’t want Steve Nash.“ Well, the Raptors were listening and reports say they will be in direct competition with the Knicks to land the 2x MVP. They don’t seem like a viable choice, however, due to the fact that Nash wants to go to a championship contending team.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Toronto is also interested in Jeremy Lin- which comes as no surprise. When the Knicks played in Toronto on February 14th, there was a season-high crowd of 20,092, all of who roared when the sensation hit a game-winning three over Toronto point guard Jose Calderon.

Since Jeremy Lin is a restricted free agent, the Knicks can match any offer another team makes- so the Raptors would have to “back-load” an offer, paying a lot of money in the final years of his contract and hoping the Knicks wouldn’t match it. However, league sources say that if their Nash plans fall through, Toronto would make a major push for Lin.
