Two of the hottest names that have been thrown around in recent weeks, Monta Ellis and Josh Smith, may actually be involved in a deal for each other. Via Chris Broussard:
Im told Monte Ellis’s name is coming up in discussions btwn Milwaukee & ATL in potential Josh Smith deal.

Other rumors have been surrounding Josh Smith, including him ending up in Phoenix. The belief here is that after striking out on Eric Gordon and Rudy Gay, the team is looking hard to make a splash. Via Alex Kennedy:
I wrote it three weeks ago (and took heat for it) and I’ll write it again: Don’t be surprised if the Phoenix Suns trade for Josh Smith.

It looks as if the Celtics/Clippers rumors are dead, seeing as Kevin Garnett has said that he will not waive his no trade clause. Via CBS Sports:
The Clippers are willing to listen to offers for Eric Bledsoe but are by no means determined or even necessarily willing to deal him. Though it’s all but a foregone conclusion that Chris Paul will re-sign with the Clippers this summer, rival execs are skeptical that the Clips would risk trading Bledsoe if there’s even the slightest doubt about CP3′s future — not to mention the slightest possibility of an injury to the All-Star MVP that would derail their push to contend for a title this season. Conversations with the Celtics about Kevin Garnett are dormant for now as both teams evaluate their options.
Backup OKC point guard Eric Maynor could be available. Via Yahoo:
Backup PG Eric Maynor is getting interest with the trade deadline approaching, a source said. After returning from a knee surgery, Maynor has lost his backup PG job to Reggie Jackson.
For whatever reason, Mike D’Antoni may still want to bring Raja Bell to the Lakers. Via Woj:
Mike D’Antoni has remained intrigued with bringing exiled Jazz guard Raja Bell to Lakers, sources say.

If the Bucks can find a suitor for Ellis, they may be in the running for shooting guard J.J. Redick. Via SI:
One deal that has been proposed is Mbah a Moute and a first-round pick to Orlando for J.J. Redick, who will be a free agent this summer, multiple league sources say. The belief is that Milwaukee would only do that deal if they moved Ellis first.
The Ben Gordon for Kris Humphries swap is reportedly still out there. With Humphries struggling in Brooklyn and Gordon having issues with the Bobcats, this could be a realistic deal including two bad contracts. Via SB Nation:
Ben Gordon recently got into a spat with Charlotte Bobcats head coach Mike Dunlap, and it’s believed that the Bobcats would like to move the veteran shooting guard. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Nets have been mulling a Gordon-for-Kris Humphries swap, but are currently looking for better deals elsewhere.
Although it’s already more or less been established that the Los Angeles Lakers will be hanging onto Dwight Howard, the Atlanta Hawks may be one of a few teams to still try to make a run at the big man. Via Ken Berger:
There’s widespread belief that the Lakers won’t trade Dwight Howard. However, several teams believe Atlanta will make a serious run at him.

Via USA Today, Andrea Bargnani might not be dealt from the Toronto Raptors after all.
While Colangelo could make more moves before the Thursday trade deadline to help his team and improve his case even more, he downplayed the once-widely-held notion that center Andrea Bargnani would be traded before then. He called that situation “fluid” and said “there just may not have been enough runway prior to the deadline to get something” because Bargnani recently came back from injury.

The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the top contenders to land Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith, and lucky for them, it seems Smith is interested in them as well. The concern for any team that trades for Smith is that his contract is up after this season. So the team who gets him will either need to work out a new deal or just use him for half a season.According to Ken Berger of...
The Atlanta Hawks, who are expected to deal forward Josh Smith before Thursday’s trade deadline, reportedly offered the Philadelphia Sixers the 8-year veteran in exchange for swingman and former second overall pick, Evan Turner (13.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.4 apg), and center, Spencer Hawes (10.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.3 blkpg).

Everyone NBA fan knows that the Atlanta Hawks are going to trade Josh Smith, so here are some possible trades for the star-caliber, but hot-headed forward.
* The Brooklyn Nets, Houston Rockets Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks have all been said to be interested, but they simply do not have the pieces to make a deal without a third team being involved in the trade(Mavericks...
The Atlanta Hawks are motivated to move Josh Smith. The nine-year veteran has been a productive player in his career, and he has remained relatively healthy throughout. Yet, it makes financial sense for the Hawks to move forward without him if they can get the right return. And it seems they will have plenty of teams they can partner with.According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports...
The Atlanta Hawks seem to be willing to pull the trigger on a Josh Smith trade before Thursday's deadline, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.
Stein writes that the "Hawks have convinced numerous teams that they're definitely trading" Smith. The thinking is that the Hawks have to trade Smith now, or they will definitely lose him for nothing in free agency. So where...
Scratch the Phoenix Suns off the list of teams in the Josh Smith derby.
ESPN is reporting that the Suns are "unlikely" to be able to pry J-Smoove from the Atlanta Hawks. That leaves Milwaukee (possibly moving Monta Ellis), Brooklyn (likely offering Kris Humphries and MarShon Brooks), Washington (offering everyone but John Wall, Nene and Bradley Beal) and Boston (probably...
The Celtics are active on several trade fronts including talks with the Hawks on Josh Smith.
Monta Ellis has an $11 million player option for the 13-14 NBA season that he is expected to decline.
While the Bucks continue to hold trade discussions with the Hawks for Josh Smith, it’s been reported that Milwaukee has made Jennings unavailable in such discussions- adding him to the list of “near-untouchables”, which includes NBA’s leading shot blocker, Larry Sanders, and rookie, John Henson.
According to Marc Stein, ESPN:
Yet amid all of those talks, sources say, Jennings...
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks had Brooklyn on the ropes for the second straight night.
But as they did just 24 hours earlier, the Bucks let a chance at beating a team ahead of them in the standings slip through their fingers.
Up 15 points in the third quarter, Milwaukee just stopped scoring. The Nets took full-advantage and came away with a 97-94 victory after Monta Ellis missed...
If I ran every NBA team, here are five deals that would go down before Thursday afternoons trading deadline:
1. Atlanta PF Josh Smith to San Antonio for PFC DeJuan Blair, SF Stephen Jackson and a first-round pick.
Smith is headed somewhere, that much is fairly certain. Yes, he can be difficult, playing the role of the occasional knucklehead who is somewhat of a risk when the idea...
The 76ers have been approached by the Atlanta Hawks about a trade of Josh Smith for Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes.
The closer the calendar gets to Thursday's NBA trade deadline, the more rumors get thrown against the wall, with only a fraction of them actually sticking.
Everything heard this time of year must be taken with heavy skepticism, but those plugged in around the league can usually pinpoint the teams making the most phone calls. This year, three teams have been listed by many as...

8 a.m. ET: Everybody is on the clock. The NBA trade deadline arrives Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, marking the last chance this season for teams to add that last pivotal player to put them over the hump — or to dump that extra salary or free-agent-to-be before it is too late.
As usual, the run-up to the deadline has featured no shortage of rumors. Some are intriguing. Some are absurd...
