Something has got to give in this game, as the Blazers have stunk it up on the road all season while the Knicks are reeling losers of 6 straight games. With the Knicks losing eight of the last 10 games, coinciding with the return of  Carmelo Anthony, and the unhappiness from players coach Mike D’Antoni  resigned Wednesday.

Linsanity has died down in the Big Apple recently with the Knicks’ losing streak and they currently are tied with the Bucks for the 8th position in the Eastern Conference.

Carmelo Anthony has not gelled with Jeremy Lin yet and is averaging only 40% shooting from the floor. Not only that, but Lin has also struggled and in the losing streak he is shooting less than 40% from the field.

The Blazers have a grand total of 6 road wins all season and both Gerald Wallace and Wesley Matthews are averaging over 13 ppg this season, but neither is averaging over 10 ppg away from the Rose Garden.

Not only are the Knicks struggling on offense, but on D as well, as in their last 4 games they have given up an average of 111.75 ppg.

That has to be good news for a Portland team that shot a season low 31.3% from the floor in last night’s loss to the Pacers.

The Blazers need to use more ball movement tonight to get everyone involved and in last night’s loss to the Pacers they had 5 assists, which the fewest in the NBA this season by any team in 1 game.

The big match up in this game may be at the PF position between LaMarcus Aldridge and Amare Stoudamire.

Both have been playing relatively well lately and each will be counted on, big time, tonight for both scoring and rebounding.

These 2 teams split the 2 games last season and this game is the first match up between the 2.

Blazers vs. Knicks Handicapping Preview

This season the Blazers are 20-21-1 ATS with an O/U record of 21-21 and the Knicks are 18-24 ATS with an O/U record of 16-26.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Blazers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games, and they have an Over record of 5-2 in their last 7 games.

The Knicks are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 home games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall, and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 games.

Pick: this one is a tough one to call since the Blazers are a terrible road team and the Knicks have been plain terrible lately. However, I have to go with the Knicks in this game, as I think their offense will carry them to a win and they will cover the spread.
