*NBA ATS Matchup Report* LaMarcus Aldridge had a big game in the win over the Bulls and will have to do so again to win this tough away game. The new guys the Blazers picked up in Mehmet Okur, Jonny Flynn, and Hasheem Thabeet may make their debut tonight. The Blazers played great defense, especially the 4th quarter, in the win over Chicago and they will have to do so against facing an Oklahoma City offense that ranks 2nd in the league. The Thunder are coming off only their 4th home loss all season losing to the Spurs in their last game where they gave up 114 points. It is no secret what the Portland defense has to do, as they have to try to contain Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook, and James Harden. Easier said than done, but Portland can pull off the upset if they force these guys to take long jumpers and do not allow them to get easy buckets on the fast break or in the paint. Portland Trailblazers vs. OKC Thunder Betting Lines & Handicapping Nicolas Batum, Raymond Felton, and Wesley Matthews combined to score 39 points in the win over the Bulls and these guys need to score again to help Aldridge out, especially since they traded away Gerald Wallace and Jamal Crawford is questionable with an injury. The Blazers really need to keep winning since they now sit in 12th place in the West 2.5 games out of the 8th and final playoff spot. Blazers vs. Thunder Handicapping Preview This season the Blazers are 21-22-1 ATS with an O/U record of 22-22 and the Thunder are 24-20 with an O/U record of 22-22. In some betting trends for this game the Blazers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall, 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games, and they have an Under record of 8-2-1 in their last 11 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Thunder are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than 40% and they have an Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 games as a home favorite.
Pick: I think the Blazers will play well again with the confidence they took away from the big win over the Bulls and while they may not win they will keep it close and, at least, cover the 10-point spread.

New coach, new role for LaMarcus Aldridge

The Portland Trail Blazers were stuck in something of a rut and needed the change that came when Portland released Nate McMillan and named young, up-and-coming coach Kaleb Canales. The Trail Blazers needed that fresh breath of life. Even a young All Star like LaMarcus Aldridge looked forward to the change. And certainly one big change to his game. When Aldridge was drafted, he...

Blazers renounce rights to G Patty Mills

Australian guard Patty Mills is a free agent after the Portland Trail Blazers renounced their rights to him. Mills played for the Blazers last season, but during the lockout went to play with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association. He was cut by the Flying Tigers earlier this year because of a hamstring injury, and FIBA cleared him to return to the NBA...

Who will be a Trail Blazer in 2012-2013 Part II: Reserves

In the second part of this two-part series, I'll be breaking down Portland reserves' odds for making the 2012-2013 roster. For the first part, click here.SG Jamal Crawford: After Brandon Roy's abrupt retirement following the lockout, Crawford signed a two year, $10 million contract with the Blazers. Crawford struggled early, but is starting to approach his career shooting...

Blazer’s Coach Kaleb Canales Wrote Erik Spoelstra A Letter Every Week For A Year

We hear it all the time, “Never give up.” Portland Trail Blazers interim head coach, Kaleb Canales, understands that adage. Talk about persistence, according to Brian Windhorst, Canales wrote Coach Spo a letter a week for a year in hopes of landing an internship position. Coach Canales may never get another opportunity to coach again after this condensed season, but I’m sure...

Blazers come home a different team

The Trail Blazers' homecoming after a tumultuous seven-game road trip hardly represented a return to normalcy. While the team got Monday off, the Blazers introduced a pair of new players they acquired at the NBA trade deadline last week, a day that was marked by the dismissal of head coach Nate McMillan. Only perfunctory attention was paid to center Hasheem Thabeet and point...

Who Will be a Trail Blazer in 2012-2013 Part I: The Starters

The Trail Blazers are going through a significant transition on multiple fronts. After the dismissal of head coach Nate McMillan (replaced by assistant Kaleb Canales), as well as the trades of small forward Gerald Wallace (New Jersey) and center Marcus Camby (Houston), there's little doubt the team has entered rebuilding mode. The team showed fight, improved offensive flow and...

Rick’s Picks: The weekly Portland Trail Blazers all-stars

Top Blazers – Last 7 Days With the trade deadline passing this past week, the Portland Trail Blazers, one of the more active teams at said deadline, saw more than their fair share of ups and downs. In the midst of a brutal road trip, Portland saw their team get fleeced at the hands of the New Jersey Nets and Houston Rockets, one night after getting crushed by the reeling New York...

Blazers Joel Przybilla To Bulls Carlos Boozer -- I'll Fu@k You Up After Game

During the Portland Trailblazers/Chicago Bulls match up, Blazers star Joel Przybilla got into it with Bulls star Carlos Boozer. It appears that Przybilla and Boozer got caught up while everyone was trying to grab the lose basketball. After everyone had gotten up from the floor, Przybilla and Boozer began talking smack to each other. Before both teams back to their benches... Przybilla...

Joel Przybilla Would Like To Meet Carlos Boozer After 4th Period Next To The Swing Set

Joel Przybilla channeled his best 3rd grader impression during a skirmish Saturday night with the Chicago Bulls.  Carlos Boozer and Przybilla started jawing at each other and you can clearly lip read his message to Boozer: “Meet me after, meet me after, I’ll f*ck you up.”  Joel is a large fella, but I think Boozer would be able to steal his lunch money and drop him in a scrap...

Patty Mills To Sign With San Antonio

Patty Mills will sign with the Spurs after also considering the Rockets.

Trail Blazers-Thunder Preview

The Portland Trail Blazers knocked off one of the best teams in the NBA in interim coach Kaleb Canales' first game at the helm. Kicking off his career with back-to-back victories could prove even more difficult with a road game against Western Conference-leading Oklahoma City up next - even with the Thunder surprisingly struggling a bit on their own court. The recently overhauled...

The Interim Trail Blazers

Who enjoys seeing the best players on their favorite team play and win...for other teams? Sometimes it happens before they get here, sometimes after they leave. From players to coaches, it happens too often in Portland. First, a few of the players in no particular order. Bill Walton hit the top in Portland, but took his second act to Boston. Big Red joined Big Green for their...
