UCLA needed some serious help in their coaching search, as it's being reported by the L.A. Times that the school had to call on NBA legendary coach Phil Jackson.Apparently, the school made the call after they were rejected by Brad Stevens and Shaka Smart. They were reportedly told, by Jackson's agent, that it would cost some serious money [$1 million] to hire Jackson as their consultant.Bruins A.D. Dan Guerrero told Jackson's agent that he would be going on a holiday and that when he got back from the holiday a deal would be worked out.Guerrero NEVER got back with Jackson's agent to discuss a deal and on Saturday the school hired Steve Alford.Bruins newly hired coach Steve Alford has only 2 NCAA tournament wins under his belt in 14 seasons as a head coach. Alford's teams have been a Top 5 seed three different times in March, and he's never reached the Sweet 16.Looks like the school acted just a little cheap on this coaching search.
