The United States men's basketball team defended its title on Sunday pulling away from Spain in the final minutes for a 107-100 victory.
The U.S. had to battle to the final whistle, just like in 2008 to win the gold medal at the London Olympic Games.
Kevin Durant scored 30 points and LeBron James added 19. James joins Michael Jordan as the only players to win an NBA title, regular-season MVP, NBA Finals MVP and Olympic gold medal in a single season.
When James was asked about his accomplishments over the season, he simply said, "this is all about the USA, the three letters on our jersey."
Pau Gasol with 24 points and Juan Carlos Navarro with 21 led Spain, which was only a few points down in the fourth quarter but couldn't find a way to win its first basketball gold.
The is the 14th gold medal for Team USA.
Both head coach Mike Krzyzewski and Kobe Bryant have said this is their last Olympics. Coach K leaves the national team with a 62-1 record.
