In a game to land them in the Gold medal match vs. Spain, Team USA overwhelmed Argentina to defeat them 109-83. See how Carmelo Anthony & Tyson Chandler contributed:

13 USA vs. Argentina: Player Grades In the semi-final game vs. Argentina, Carmelo Anthony was absolutely phenomenal, providing a complete game for Team USA. He didn’t exactly post 37-points, or break any Olympic records, but he was a key contributor in the team’s 26-point victory. Carmelo got off to a slow start with just 4 points (2-5 FGA-M) and 3 rebounds at the half, but his activity on the boards was impressive, and would continue in the second half. Upon checking in mid-way through the 3rd quarter, Carmelo brought intensity, efficient passing, and aggressive rebounding to the game- all things the team values from him. With 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists after 3 quarters, Carmelo was having a relatively average game, but all it takes is one shot to get him going, and that shot came on a deep contested 2 early in the fourth. Following that shot, Deron Williams set up Carmelo on two pull-up three’s, which you knew were going in, and they did. He would leave the game with 3 minutes remaining and finish with 18 points (7-14 FGA-M), 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 22 minutes

Tyson Chandler had another low impact game. With 0 points and 3 rebounds at the half, the Defensive Player of the Year was on pace for another disappointing game as Kevin Love did all the work down low, on his way to another near double-double. After a dull game and minimal minutes, Chandler saw some time at the end of the game where Chris Paul hit him on an alley-oop with a chance for a 3-point play. However, he couldn’t complete the and-1 and missed his only free throw attempt of the game. Chandler finished the night with 4 points (2-2 FGA-M), 3 rebounds and 2 turnovers.
