There is no doubting that Trey Burke has an impressive resume, as he was only the NCAA National Player of the Year last season, took Michigan to the National Championship game, was the 9th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft and is now the starting point guard for the Utah Jazz. He is the most NBA ready point in the draft and arguably the most NBA ready player in the entire draft. He may have fallen to the 9th pick, but that does not take away this talent. By most, he was the highest rated true point guard in the draft and only fell to 9th, as team’s 1-8 either did not need a point guard, tried to fill other needs, or went with a player with more potential. This is not to say that Trey Burke lacks potential, he just does not have the athleticism of other rookies or the “upside” that many teams covet in the beginning of the draft.
