Found December 19, 2013 on Project Spurs:
Former San Antonio Spurs forward (now with the Clippers) Stephen Jackson's time in silver and black may have come to a tumultuous end last season but it appears coach Gregg Popovich and Jackson have no ill will between each other. After the Spurs recent matchup with the Clippers, which resulted in a loss for San Antonio, Pop had some fun with Capt. Jack and proceeded to steal his headband when he wasn't looking. WATCH: Gregg Popovich steals Stephen Jackson's headband

Following the San Antonio Spurs’ 115-92 beatdown at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday at Staples Center, Gregg Popovich, the team’s typically cantankerous, grumpy, curmudgeonly head coach, showed off his humorous side when he sneakily stole the headband right off of the head of Clippers veteran Stephen Jackson. Of course, Jackson and […]The post Gregg Popovich...

Spurs openly admit to resting star players once again

Christmas is coming a week early for the Warriors. And Santa Claus? He goes by the name of Gregg Popovich. Pop, with the Spurs in town tonight to face the Warriors (on TNT!), has decided to keep noted senior citizens Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili out of the lineup to give them rest on the tail end of a back-to-back after beating the Suns last night in Phoenix. The list of Spurs absences...

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan flourishing under Doc Rivers

Maybe all DeAndre Jordan needed was a challenge -- someone or something that would push him to be the player everyone thought he could be, or should be. Maybe all he needed was Doc Rivers. On the day he was introduced as the Clippers head coach last June, Rivers confidently told reporters that Jordan was talented enough to win the NBA's defensive player of the year award. It...

Tony Allen auctioning off shoe that kicked Chris Paul’s face, for charity

You can own a shoe that has kicked Chris Paul in the face. And who doesn’t want that? Remember the play from Nov. 19 — Tony Allen went into the air, got burned by CP3 something fierce, and in an effort to make a play and kick the ball away he caught Paul across the face. Allen said it was not intentional (and while I believe that many of you do not, I saw my twitter timeline...

Los Angeles Clippers hang on to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 108-95

Heading into today’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers tried to build on their best season they are having in franchise history. They faced the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday night, sending the Pelicans 0-3 on their mini road trip. Defeating New Orleans 108-95 and spoiling the return of Anthony Davis. The Clippers currently lead the league in 111.5 points at home. That is...

Spurs beat Warriors on controversial Thiago Splitter tip-in (Video)

Gregg Popovich did that thing on Thursday night where he infuriates the NBA by resting his superstar players for a nationally televised game, but the San Antonio Spurs came away with a win over the Golden State Warriors anyway. However, the ending of the game has created some controversy. San Antonio center Tiago Splitter tipped […]

Miles Plumlee Dunks on Tim Duncan (Video)

Tim Duncan can count on one hand the number of times he’s been dunked on, so when it happens, it needs to be celebrated. Miles Plumlee of the Phoenix Suns caught Tim Duncan playing the dish and drive, and easily elevated over Duncan for the dunk before the Spurs legend coud react.

Manu the 'closer' reemerges to help Spurs defeat Suns without Parker

Coming into Wednesday’s matchup with the Phoenix Suns, the San Antonio Spurs already knew they would be without point guard Tony Parker, who suffered a right shin contusion on Monday in the team’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs were about to have the task of facing a Phoenix team that was on a 5-game winning streak. Apparently, one 36 year old on the Spurs...

Pelicans-Clippers Preview

The Los Angeles Clippers don't seem to have much trouble scoring at home. That's likely to continue against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Clippers look to build on perhaps their best performance of the season Wednesday night when they try to send the Pelicans to an 0-3 start to their road trip. Los Angeles (17-9) leads the NBA with an average of 111.5 points at home, winning...

Doc and Pop an Unlikely Pair

Last Monday’s game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers show showcased a pair coaches who appear to have taken completely different paths to achieve coaching success but share common beliefs that have been critical to their success. Ben Bolch of the LA Times, delved in to comparing the Coach Greg Popovich and Coach Glen “Doc” Rivers. Away from...

Thunder-Spurs Preview

The San Antonio Spurs have proved to be a dangerous team even if their best players aren't in the lineup. They're even better when at full strength, which is expected to be the case when they try to end the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder's eight-game winning streak Saturday night in this showdown between the Western Conference's two best teams. Tim Duncan, Manu...
