If you’ve been paying attention, the Brooklyn Nets have been aiming a lot of tough talk in the direction of the New York Knicks lately.  Talking about owning New York and all types of nonsense. Just the other day,  Andray Blatche tweeted:

#bbpBox_251566282376351744 a { text-decoration:none; color:#0084B4; }#bbpBox_251566282376351744 a:hover { text-decoration:underline; } NYC the nets is yours no longer the Knicks September 28, 2012 2:17 am via Twitter for iPhoneReplyRetweetFavorite @drayblatche andray blatche

But before he dismissed it as a joke, Iman Shumpert had already taken a screenshot of the tweet, and immediately instagrammed and retweeted it to his 170K followers with the caption, “Bold tweet…….#gnite. Training camp in the am #post90s”.

A rivalry between the two teams is definitely brewing, but until it’s officially handled on the court, we’ll allow Shump and his ’80s flat top take us back to the old school days of the freestyle battle.  Shumpert reminded folks who he’s rolling with by stylishly shutting down Blatche.  Shump ironically borrowed the flow of BK Nets owner, Jay-Z, and remixed his bars on Kanye West’s “Clique“…#knickstape style.

Check out the boy’s skills.

Between Shump’s emotional poetry reading at Village Underground, his funny iPhone 5 dunking stunt, and Yeezy walk at the end of the freestyle video, it appears his knee is in good shape after ACL surgery.

I can’t wait to get him back out on the court.  After signing Jason Kidd, Marcus Camby, and Kurt Thomas during the offseason, the Knicks definitely could use an assist from a young 22-year-old with a pair of fresh knees.
