When you’re struggling the way that Knicks guard and reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year J.R. Smith has been this season, you’ll do just about whatever it takes to gain an advantage. Yes, that even means resorting to juvenile (but humorous) tricks:
If you didn’t catch it, Smith goes down to put his hands on his knees like he’s catching some wind. He then reaches down right before Dirk’s free throw attempt and unties Shawn Marion’s shoe, which you can see him tie back up after the ensuing Knicks possession.
In the interest of not letting jokes die, Smith really tried to give the Mavs “the pipe” on that one.

Doesn’t the NBA have something better to do than make a big deal out of this? As seen in a previous news story, JR Smith of the Knicks took it upon himself to untie Mavs forward Shawn Marion’s shoelaces while awaiting a foul shot. It didn’t really seem to affect much of the play as Dirk Nowitzki sunk his foul shot anyway. Now, according to the New York Daily News, the NBA is...
When your team is underachieving with a 10-22 record, you have to start getting creative with defensive strategies, but New York Knicks' guard J.R. Smith might have taken things too far during Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
Late in the second quarter, Smith checked into the game while Dirk Nowitzki was shooting free throws, and was caught on camera bending down and...
J.R. Smith told a Twitter hater just how he felt about her
Love him or hate him, J.R. Smith does provide a lot of comedy. Albeit unintentional the majority of the time, Smith has a rather unique way with expressing his feelings via Twitter. We all remember his famous “You trying to get the pipe” tweet to a follower who told J.R. she was coming to the game. But that’s not all...
It is not uncommon for Knicks' J.R. Smith to be up to some shenanigans on and off the court but for all the wrong reasons. But this recent incident bersus the Mavercks is a bit funny.
During a free throw by Dirk Nowitzki, Smith took the opportunity to untie Mavs' Shawn Marion's shoelaces.
Marion does see Smith's handy work but doesn't seem to make a huge...
Not a good sign for the New York Knicks when one of their players is focusing on untying opponents shoes during the middle of a game rather than playing ball. J.R. Smith did exactly that when he untied Shawn Marion’s shoes prior to a free-throw during Sunday’s Knicks-Dallas Mavericks game. Does Smith get fined for something like this? Don’t think it’s ever happened before...
Sunday night during Knicks vs. Mavericks. JR Smith decided to use some creativity to get a competitive advantage over Mavs Shawn Marion. While Dirk Nowitzki was shooting freethrows, JR leaned over and untied Marion’s shoe to slow him down.
Check the video.
JR even laughed about it with a friend on Twitter Monday morning.

Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion left Tuesday night's game against the Lakers with a bruised right shoulder.
Marion fell hard to the floor just before halftime and was down in a heap under the Los Angeles basket while play continued until Jordan Hill's dunk.
The Mavericks said after halftime that Marion wouldn't return to the game. He had started after being questionable...
It wouldn’t be a Sunday Knicks game without some shenanigans from J.R. Smith.

If you had to pick one person in the NBA to do this, I’m pretty sure a lot of people would choose none other than J.R. Smith.
Shawn Marion looked puzzled.
JR Smith apparently has a humorous habit of untying an opponent’s shoes in the free throw line, and Shawn Marion was his victim on Sunday. Smith pulled off the trick upon entering the game late in the second quarter during the Knicks’ 92-80 win over the Mavs. When a fan on Twitter told Smith he […]
Give the New York Knicks bonus points for consistency.
Just a few weeks back, Knicks big man Andrea Bargnani took a boneheaded shot that almost cost his team a victory against the Milwaukee Bucks. The Knicks were fortunate to escape that game with a win in double overtime, but it might never have been necessary if Bargnani hadn’t taken a 3-pointer with the Knicks ahead by two points...
J.R. Smith tried to untie Greg Monroe’s shoe in Tuesday night’s Detroit Pistons-New York Knicks game. Monroe wasn’t having it though, angling his foot away from Smith’s reach. Didn’t Coach Woodson just tell him not to do that again?

Another game, another crazy occurrence for J.R. Smith. In what...
The Dallas Mavericks used the recently-released Anchorman 2 for a promotional teaser of their own news team, the “Starting 5 News Team.” Dirk Nowitzki stars as Ron Burgundy, and alongside him are Vince Carter, Shawn Marion, Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert and Monta Ellis The post Dallas Mavericks spoof ‘Anchorman’ with ‘AnchorMavs’ appeared first on Sports Glory.
Poor play at the end of games has been a regular obstacle for the New York Knicks, as was clearly the case in their last contest.
As they visit a Dallas Mavericks team which had the same problem, the Knicks will look to move past those issues Sunday night and continue what their coach believes has been improved play recently.
New York was in a tie game Friday at Houston with 19...
The Knicks finished their Texas Triangle trip up strongly, defeating the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 92-80.
- You don’t want to overreact to three games, but the Knicks continued their stellar play with a win in Dallas, and look to have put their early season demons behind them. Instead of leaving the state with nothing but a fluke win over the Spurs, the team was just a J...
