Via D Wizzle's World:
Nolan Smith of the Portland Trail Blazers had to be taken to the hospital on a stretcher after taking an elbow to head on a fast break by the Rockets' Zoran Drajic during a NBA Summer League game on Tuesday night.
The former Duke star lost his balance a few seconds after the hit to the head and fell down along the baseline. He suffered a concussion on the play but was released from the hospital on Tuesday night after his CT scan came back normal, according to the Oregonian.
Following the play, a brief argument occurred between Houston's Royce White and Smith's teammate, Ekene Ibekwe. Cooler heads prevailed though and both teams headed off to their locker rooms after the referees decided to call the game with 42.9 seconds still remaining in the contest. It was a otherwise productive game for the second-year Blazers guard, who tallied 27 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals prior to the injury.
