Henderson hit two free throws with 13 seconds left and Walker one seven seconds later to seal the victory. Carmelo Anthony scored 32 points to lead the Knicks, but was 10 for 28 from the field. His back-to-back baskets late in the fourth quarter twice brought the Knicks within two, but every attempt that the Knicks had to take the lead failed. New York lost starting center Tyson Chandler midway through the first quarter with a right knee injury. With 16 seconds left, Anthony hit a 3-pointer to get the Knicks within 99-96. After a Bobcats turnover, Iman Shumpert was fouled but made only one of two free throws. Henderson then hit his two free throws and the Knicks never got closer. Bobcats PG Walker expected to play; MRI negative

Charlotte Bobcats coach Steve Clifford says an MRI on Kemba Walker's shoulder was negative and he expects the third-year point guard to play Wednesday night against the Toronto Raptors. Walker injured his shoulder Tuesday night against the New York Knicks when he ran into Metta World Peace during Charlotte's victory. Walker had X-rays at the arena and returned in the second...

Charles Barkley to Carmelo: Pass the ball

Carmelo Anthony has turned some heads already early in this season. At one point, he said he could not wait for free agency. Then in another he said he would be opening his rolodex to try and get other stars to New York. And then in another he was getting beat by Derrick Rose at the last second in the first national TV game for the Knicks. New York is quickly becoming the forgotten...

Is J.R. Smith the Key to the Knicks Success?

Earl is a Knick and he is here to stay, that’s a fact. The day that he signed here from China I was a happy camper. Although his signing made me smile at the time, the last 2 years I have moved the needle on Smith from smile to frustration to joy and back again. His boneheaded plays along with his boneheaded off the court issues make me wonder what is going on in his head. I can...

Henderson’s 23 points give Bobcats 92-90 win over Raptors

What did the coaching staff do about Gerald Henderson’s horrible initial shooting this season? Absolutely nothing because they thought the Charlotte Bobcats shooting guard was doing nothing wrong. “Every guy goes through one of those,” coach Steve Clifford said after Henderson scored a season-high 23 points in the Bobcats’ 92-90 victory against the Toronto Raptors. “His...

Dolan shuts out Knicks City Dancers during loss at Garden

The Knicks City Dancers might want to come up with a new name for themselves, since they haven’t been doing much dancing lately. In fact, Tuesday night at the Garden during the Knicks’ loss to the Bobcats, the Dancers who normally perform several times a game during halftime and timeouts did not perform one single routine and were nowhere to be found at halftime. The only dancing...

Carmelo Anthony drains buzzer-beating three pointer against Bobcats

Carmelo Anthony says he been too passive during fourth quarters

Carmelo Anthony has never been shy about getting shots up throughout his career. He’s a great scorer who isn’t going to change at this point in his career. After last night’s game though, he said maybe he is being a too passive in the 4th quarter of games this season: “For myself, maybe I’m second-guessing myself as well,” Anthony said Monday after the Knicks’ practice...

Charlotte Bobcats Size Advantage Steals the Show

Inside the Purple Room & Raptors Zone present Game 5: Whew! The Toronto Raptors haven’t stolen a page from the Lakers notebook (firing coach Brown) after 5 games just yet. Coach Casey is safe for now. As much as I love the coach the team was pounding the rock more then passing to the open man. Everyone was in it to get theirs or at least it looked like that. The Cats are one...

Jordan doesn't know the word 'tanking'

When it comes to having that killer instinct or competitive edge, NBA legend Michael Jordan had that and more. So when it comes to his Bobcats deliberately losing (or tanking) this season, MJ will have none of that despite the upcoming NBA Draft class touted to be one of the best in years. The Bobcats are not likely to challenge for the NBA crown (or even a playoff spot in the...

Is The Knicks' Bad Start J.R. Smith's Fault (Poll?)

Is The Knicks' Bad Start J.R. Smith's Fault?   The Knicks are 1-3 and it is clear that the Knicks' defense or lack thereof is the major culprit.  However, with the injury to Tyson Chandler highlighting the Knicks' deficiencies to start the season, it is easy to wonder where the Knicks would be if J.R. Smith had not been suspended because of his transgressions...

Morning Shootaround: Bobcat revolution

Bobcats on actual win streak Bobcats 92, Raptors 90 Your eyes do not deceive you. The Bobcats are a game above .500 and on a two-game win streak. A modest, but actual win streak. These are not your parent's Bobcats either. This is a team that is playing hard for new coach Steve Clifford and have a decent young core that are growing pretty quickly. And without Al Jefferson...
