Washington Wizards Reportedly Release A Player
USA TODAY Sports

Quenton Jackson is coming off his rookie season, where he appeared in nine games for the  Washington Wizards.

The 24 year old averaged 6.2 points and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 45.2% from the field.

On Monday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that the Wizards have waived Jackson.

Via Scotto : "The Washington Wizards have waived Quenton Jackson, league sources told  @hoopshype."

In addition to his time with the Wizards, Jackson also spent a significant amount of time playing in the G League.

He averaged 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 steals per contest while shooting 53.5% from the field and 39.5% from the three-point range in 29 regular season games (he also appeared in 15 Showcase Cup games and two G League playoff games).

Considering he had a very productive season in the G League (and was solid for the Wizards), Jackson could be a good pickup for a young team looking to develop talent.

He initially went undrafted in 2022 after playing three seasons for Texas A&M and averaging 14.8 points per contest during his final year in college.

As for the Wizards, they are coming off a year where they were the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference and had a 38-44 record.

They had a talented roster, but missed the NBA playoffs for the second straight season.

This summer, the franchise has gone into somewhat of a rebuilding mode, as they have traded away three-time NBA All-Star Bradley Beal (to the Phoenix Suns) and Kristaps Porzingis (to the Boston Celtics).
