Wizards Player of the Game The players of the game for the Wizards were Trevor Booker and John Wall. Booker finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds. While Wall had 18  points, 10 assists, 3steals, and 2 blocks with only 1 turnover. he played very aggressively, attacking Dirk Nowitzki WE’s to Watch/WE Spotlight Dirk Nowitzki played like vintage Dirk Nowitzki. He finished with 27 points going 10-14 from the field. It seemed as if he made pretty much everything he put up and he did it with Trevor Booker playing solid defense for most of the game. When Dirk is hot, he is hot. He looked like a former MVP and reigning Finals MVP, oh wait he is. Trevor Booker is making his case as the Wizards big man of the future.  The 17 foot jumpshot that he’s been working on this season was on full display. Booker came into the game looking to score and be aggressive and aggressive he was, gooing 8-13 from the field. He did a good job getting working to get foul calls although he only went 4-8 from the line. Despite Nowitzki shooting 71% from the field, Booker’s effort on defense was valiant. He smothered Dirk whenever he got the chance, it was just unfortunate that it didn’t matter. The Good The Wizards were competitive for most the game, even holding leads for extended periods of time. Once again, John Wall and Trevor Booker are looking more and more like franchise cornerstones. The team also did a great job getting the Mavericks into foul trouble, the Wizards got 38 shots from the foul line compared to the Mavs' 15. The Bad
Even though the Wiz Kids took 23 more free throws than the Mav’s they still missed 12 freebies, which is more than what they point differential. The Ugly
The Wizards’ inability to close out quarters. It dosen’t matter how close you play a team if you allow them to go on scoring runs to end every quarter.

JaVale McGee strikes again (Video)

A play-by-play for this sequence from Monday night: The Wizards are on a fast break. JaVale McGee runs up the middle of the court. JaVale McGee doesn’t know where the ball is, gets hit in the face on a pass intended for him, turns ball over. JaVale McGee sulks and doesn’t bother getting back on defense. The Wizards force another turnover. JaVale McGee, still on the other end...

Haywood back in Mavericks lineup

Mavericks center Brendan Haywood is back in the starting lineup against Washington. He had missed four games since spraining his left ankle in the opening minute of the Mavericks' game March 5 at Oklahoma City. Haywood wasn't the only big man the Mavericks got back Tuesday. Center Brandan Wright was active after missing six games with concussion-like symptoms. The Mavericks...

DALLAS (AP) -- Dirk Nowtizki scored 27 points, Jason Terry had 24 and the Dallas Mavericks got a much-needed victory, beating the Washington Wizards 107-98 on Tuesday night. Let’s examine JaVale McGee’s basketball IQ

JaVae McGee is having an interesting year with the Washington Wizards. At the top of the season, his mother felt as if the team wasn’t developing him as a player and making him a priority. Nene to the Wizards, Nick Young to the Clippers and JaVale McGee to the Nuggets

The Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers have completed a three-team trade. The Wizards will acquire Nene, the Nuggets will acquire JaVale McGee and the Clippers will acquire Nick Young in a swap I never saw coming. It’s apparent that the Nuggets haven’t been happy with Nene’s production after giving him the big deal during the off-season. JaVale McGee...

Mavs Continue To Search For Answers

There’s no way around it. The last ten games, which have seen the Mavs go 2-8, have been absolutely abysmal. The Mavs’ execution, effort, and basic desire to play quality basketball weren’t at the level needed in order to compete for a championship. Whether it was due to injuries or contract uncertainty beyond this year, the Mavericks have simply lost too many games against...

Wizards-Mavericks Preview

The Dallas Mavericks are happy to be home and happy to have a couple of days off from games. They're probably also happy about their first two opponents this week. The Mavericks will try to end a three-game slide as they host the NBA's worst teams starting Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards. Dallas (23-20) has lost seven of nine within a 12-day span, a stretch...

Jason Terry added 18 points for the Mavs, who had lost...
