Found June 07, 2013 on Celtics Life:
You may only know him today for his stellar work as the voice of the Golden State Warriors.  But long before Jim Barnett called it like he sees it, he actually played for the Celtics.  This week in What the Hell Happened To, we remember him. Jim attended high school at Ramona in Riverside, California before attending the University of Oregon.  The Celtics made him the #8 overall pick out of the 1966 draft.  Jim remembers the time well: "There were only 10 teams in the league then so I thought I might go in the second round somewhere, but I did really well in the East-West College All Star game, I was the leading scorer for the West and I think that kind of boosted to me to the first round.  I had no idea it was going to be the Boston Celtics, who were a storied franchise and won 8 straight championships.  So that was really cool."  But how different was the draft back then compared to now?  When the Celtics picked him, a writer from the Boston Globe called Jim and asked...

What Boston should do with the bottom of its roster

While most are focused on what the future holds with Boston's future hall of famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, there are players on the other end of the bench who could or could not be in green next season. In a recent Boston Herald piece, Danny Ainge talked about the players Boston brought in over the course of last season to help shore up a banged up Celtics squad. Three...

Behind the scenes of Sullinger’s back surgery and rehab

New on Celtics.com, Jared Sullinger: The Road to Recovery.  It’s worth the 8 minutes. “Couldn’t sit up, couldn’t stand. Could barely walk. I was like a frozen bear.” Amazing that in the span of 48 hours, Sullinger went from feeling and playing great to season-ending surgery. Love that Sully saved a clip of Stephen A. Blowhole saying he wouldn’t draft him in the 1st...

Jared Sullinger - On the Road to Recovery

Celtics.com put out a great video following Jared Sullinger through his recovery from the back surgery that ended his season. We all know the story about the red flags that caused Sully to slip out of the lottery and down to the Celtics at #21. He seemed healthy and it seemed that the back problems that bothered him in college and that caused that draft slide could be managed...

Your Morning Dump… Where Shav Randolph is the leader of the non-guaranteed contract pack

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. On the other end of the experience spectrum, the Celtics will have an additional month to state their intentions with three other players (Shavlik Randolph, Terrence Williams and D.J. White) before financial promises...

Before coming across this Vine video, I didn’t know that Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry had any tattoos to begin with. However, Stephen had one tattoo on his left wrist that says “TTC 30″ (TTC stands for Trust, Commitment, Care) and in the below clip, Steph is shown getting a new tattoo with a Hebrew saying, “Love Never Fails” on his inner right wrist: *** Stephen...

Stephen Curry hopes to play entire career with the Warriors

Maybe looking ahead more than a week isn’t a very wise thing to do with somebody as injury-prone as Stephen Curry, but this is still nice thing for Warriors fans to hear coming from the mouth of everybody’s favorite Steve. From Tom Sorensen of the Charlotte Observer: I ask him Tuesday if he can see himself playing for a team other than Golden State. “I can’t,” he says...
