(As the NBA remains shuttered, only now are the actual losses of games becoming real. To that end, we will offer a look on each scheduled game day of what would have been in play for the Miami Heat had they actually been playing.)
The schedule: The Heat were scheduled to play Wednesday night at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Boston Celtics at 8 p.m., in a game that had been scheduled to be televised nationally on ESPN.
The expected hype: If you recall, when the NBA cancelled the first two weeks of the season during the earlier stages of the lockout, this stood as a potential season-opener not only for the Heat but for the league. Perhaps the top active rivalry in the Eastern Conference, the Heat lost the first three games of last season’s four-game series, before winning the series finale in April to secure the No. 2 Eastern Conference playoff seed ahead of the Celtics. Prior to that victory, the Heat had lost eight consecutive regular-season games to the Celtics, as well as 1...

Rajon Rondo posted this silly picture on his Facebook page.
I figured it was perfect for a caption contest.
Chris Bosh says it still feels strange not to be playing basketball. And the idea of not playing any this season is simply too bizarre for the Miami Heat forward to fathom.
Bosh says he's taking a ''wait and see what happens'' approach for now to the labor divide that threatens the NBA season. He's still working out, still staying sharp and hopeful that the...
Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh is brushing off harsh criticism in Shaquille O'Neal's new book, “Shaq Uncut: My Story.”
O’Neal says Bosh has achieved stardom without earning it, is more about numbers than winning, and “is not an elite player.”
“I know the thing is entertainment,” Bosh told the Sun-Sentinel. “How are you going to get people to buy your book...
As the title of the Cheech & Chong classic once opined, Things Are Tough All Over, even more so if you happen to be an NBA player right about now, as you may have heard that the players missed their first scheduled payday of the nonexistent season on Tuesday. Count Boston Celtics guard Delonte West, [...]
This is a good example of the pressure some of these guys are facing. They take care of a lot of people.

What to do with all that free time…While the NBA is on the verge of a lost season, three of the league’s biggest superstars hit up an amusement park over the weekend…Here’s the Miami Heat’s Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh spending some quality time with Knicks big man Amare Stoudemire at Jungle Island in Miami...Plenty of parks left...
Rondo and some of his former and current teammates will be playing the Boston Charity Classic game at Harvard Unniversity on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
In his new book, Shaquille O’Neal smacks around Chris Bosh a little. Which is nothing new, Shaq called Bosh the “RuPaul of NBA big men” before, so this was almost tame in comparison. But when asked about it, Bosh basically shrugged it off. Our own Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel asked Bosh about the…
LeBron James and Kevin Durant debut a new webcast that takes you behind the scenes of their offseason workouts.
It’s Tuesday, time for another installment of “Shaquille O’Neal smacks someone is his book.” Chris Bosh, come on down, you’re the next contestant. Here is what Shaq wrote about the third wheel of the Miami Heat, as reported by Ethan Skolnick in the Palm Beach Post (via I am a GM). “Some guys come into the…
LeBron James and Kevin Durant are practicing basketball together up in Akron, Ohio, and this is good news for those of us that tell us that "we just want our basketball back."
That's what we hear, from most of you. Nearly all of you, at least the those of "you" that we pay attention to. Save for Tom Jane. He just wants his kids back.
So before we get our basketball...
Is this the year for Miami’s redemption? The year LeBron turns it all around and rids himself of those evil demons? We may never know for sure. But at least in the video game world, 2011-12 is all about South Beach and LeBron James. Without the real NBA, I simulated a season to see what [...]
Ahhh… those were the days huh Dan Gilbert? Created by artist Luigi Bicco from Turin, Italy. This stylish LeBron James illustration practically begs you to buy season tickets to see the Cavaliers play like old times. Sorta, but not really though. Anyway, this piece is pretty cool despite your current feelings about LeBron BTW, I’m totally looking at you Dan Gilbert.
