Brendan Bowers talks with a Cavalier legend- “Mark Price: Kyrie, to me, reminds me a little bit of Isiah Thomas, a guy that I played against. He has the ability to score the ball, but also has done a good job of running the team and getting his other teammates involved too. He’s probably a little bit bigger than Isiah, but the way that he played, he’s a guy that I look at as a good comparison to the way that Kyrie plays.” [Bowers/Cleveland.com]

“Fact is, between his on-the-mound issues and now this incident Sunday, Jimenez has done little to endear himself to his new surroundings. Trades of this magnitude are best judged with the benefit of time, of course, but one important element of this acquisition (the late-season race with the Tigers last year) can be chalked up as a loss, and all the Indians have learned about Jimenez in the last eight months is that he’s an unpolished, unfinished project, not an ace. And now his maturity is being called into question, as well. Jimenez — and only Jimenez — can alter that reality. He can make the Indians look wise for acquiring him and make the Rockies rue the day they dealt him. But the only way to do that is to refine that complicated delivery, harness those raw emotions and recapture that 2010 form. Unfortunately, that guy who took the mound Sunday did not appear ready to do any of those things. Here’s hoping it’s a different guy on the mound in-season.” [Castrovince/MLB.com]

Going beyond Blackmon, Wright and Floyd- “Of course history could repeat itself in a few weeks. Another Heckert trade could be in the offering which would drop the Browns out of the draft’s top five. In such a scenario, the Browns could wait until the second round to find a wide receiver – similar to what happened in 2011. While this prospect is not as exciting, it’s worth noting that both Little and Baltimore’s Torrey Smith were solid second round picks last April.

Of the players who could fall into the second round, Sanu could be considered a steal. While not as physical as the first day talent, Sanu is a smooth runner and receiver who has experience in Rutgers’ pro style offense. Another victim of a poor Scouting Combine performance, Sanu is an interesting option for the Browns at the top of the second round.” [DK/The OBR]

“Entering the NBA Draft seems the next logical step for Sullinger, who surprised many by not leaving school a year ago. He’s not going to be a top five pick — and he might not be a top 10 pick — but he’s going to be a lottery pick when he does pick the NBA. He’s averaged a little over 17 points and almost 10 rebounds per game over two college seasons and helped the Buckeyes to two outstanding seasons, including a Final Four appearance this year. As far as the pounding he takes — and gives — in the paint, he might as well start getting paid for it.” [Jackson/FSO]

Finally, Tristan Thompson: team comedian- “Ask Coach Scott. I’m the reason he still looks young. If it wasn’t for me, he’d have more wrinkles than he does. He might need some Botox. Yeah, I definitely like broadcasting. And I’m looking forward to getting into it when my career is done. Hopefully that’s another 15 or 20 years from now, but it’s something that I’d be interested in.” [Cavs.com]
