PLAYERS: Marcus Camby
TEAMS: New York Knicks
Marcus Camby is an important cog to the New York Knicks roster and they don’t even know it. The skills he brings to the team will help and the Knicks are in desperate need as of this minute. Defense and intimidation are his skill and his body of work is in the stats. It is time for Marcus to get his minutes and help this team get back to top 5 defensive play. Marcus Camby is a veteran. He has done it all in his career, except win the elusive championship. He agreed to come to the Knicks where he excelled over a decade ago. He never felt like he was far away from the team that he had success with. He was always hoping a return to the Knicks was in his future. His chance to come back and help this team win a title is what motivates him. He is back healthy for the first time this season, playing in multiple games since last week. Now is the time to give him 20-25 minutes a game and let him do what he does best, defend, alter shots and intimidate. The Knicks have gone soft at this point in the season. Allowing teams to get into rhythm and drive to the basket with ease. Tyson, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, is looking like he is tired and alone on the defensive end. Add Camby to the line-up, playing him with Tyson at times and Amare at others. Let Marcus intimidate with his uncanny knack for blocking shots and deterring others from coming into the paint. The new “Twin Towers” is what this team needs. Marcus is a very good passer from the high pick and if given the chance he can get his timing back to the consistent jumper he once was known for. Marcus can help this team defensively while allowing Amare to dominate on the offense. The Knicks have been lost on defense for the past few weeks now. Insert Marcus and let’s see what happens. The Knicks have to straighten this ship out if they want to get to the next level. Marcus can be that key piece to steady the course.   Peter A. Camby to Make His First Start of the Season

Marcus Camby will start tonight next to Tyson Chandler to give the Knicks a 7 foot look. This move is not a surprising one to any of us. The Knicks have been struggling in the 1st quarter these past few weeks and opponents have hurt the Knicks in every way on defense. Woodson makes it official: @marcuscamby23 will start with @tysonchandler. Cambys first #Knicks start in almost 11...

Chris Copeland wears pink girl pajamas as part of Knicks rookie hazing (Photo)

New York Knicks rookie forward Chris Copeland had to wear pink girl pajamas as the team returned home from their West Coast trip as part of the team's harmless rookie hazing. As Copeland is 6-foot-8, we're surprised they found girl pajamas big enough to fit him. Photo via teamswish Instagram. H/T TNLP. Visit us at and follow us on Twitter @HoldoutSports.

J.R. Smith Turns Pablo Prigioni’s Pass Into Highlight-Reel Reverse Alley-Oop Dunk in Knicks’ Win Over Spurs (Video)

Earl Smith III, better known to the populous as J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks, has always had crazy ups and loads of untapped skills. Until this year, though, Smith has mostly been known for falling short of living up to his potential on a nightly basis. Now Smith is having the best season of his career this season with the Knicks, and he still has the hops that make him one...

Dunk of the night: JR Smith 1 hand reverse dunk

JR Smith is definitely in the early running for Sixth man of the year. We’re all familiar with his long range shot, which can exhilarate or scare you depending on his shot selection for the night. But don’t forget that JR also has hops and get up in that rare air. Check out his one-hand reverse [...]

J.R. Smith uses re-tweet as subtle jab towards Nuggets

New York Knicks swingman, J.R. Smith, is no stranger to social media networks, and routinely takes to Twitter as a means of discussing NBA issues and personal matters. Smith also has a history of saying what he wants in front of an audience of 208,000+ on Twitter. The most recent Twitter scandal (if that’s what we’re to make of it) involving Smith, was more of an indirect way...

Knicks halt Spurs' 7-game win streak

Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points, J.R. Smith kept up his surge with 20 and the New York Knicks snapped the San Antonio Spurs' seven-game winning streak with a 100-83 victory Thursday night. Steve Novak added 15 points and Tyson Chandler had 10 points and 14 rebounds to help the Knicks bounced back from consecutive losses by dominating the final period against the Spurs, who...

Knicks-Magic Preview

The New York Knicks made a lineup change to their frontcourt their last time out, and it could pay dividends against their next opponent. The visiting Knicks are hoping a strong defensive effort carries over Saturday night when they try to extend the Orlando Magic's longest losing streak in seven seasons. New York (22-10) had lost five of eight before coach Mike Woodson gave...

Knicks 100, Spurs 83

NEW YORK -- This time, there was no need to complain about the absence of the San Antonio Spurs' stars by the end of a marquee matchup. The New York Knicks had made it completely reasonable for Spurs coach Gregg Popovich to rest them at the end of New York's 100-83 rout at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. Carmelo Anthony scored 23 points for the Knicks and point...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Knicks

Tim Duncan and Carmelo Anthony, power forwards for their teams, will be the matchup when the San Antonio Spurs face the New York Knicks. The two men probably won't guard each other with their coaches possibly switching their centers (Tiago Splitter for S.A. and Tyson Chandler for N.Y.), but they'll have plenty to do with how the other performs this game. Anthony shot...
