After receiving a suspension for game four of the Knicks/Celtics playoff series, many New York fans blamed J.R. Smith for his team's loss last weekend. After missing his first ten shots of game five, Smith only started to pick up the pace in the later minutes of the contest. By then, it was too late for him to help the Knicks escape a 92-86 loss. Thus, there are plenty of Knicks fans who place the blame of New York's past two losses on Smith's shoulders. Of course, his poor play (or lack of presence in game four) has a lot to do with it. But should the swingman be struggling so mightily in a contest, when is it appropriate to blame the man whose choice it was to keep him in the game for so long?Desperately in need of Smith's offensive prowess in game four, perhaps Mike Woodson allowed the Knickerbockers to hang onto the hope that it would come roaring back in game five for a little bit too long. It's often been said that when it comes to a player like Smith, a team ...

J.R. Smith Is Partying Again

Part of J.R. Smith’s success this season with the Knicks has been attributed to the newly crowned Sixth Man of the Year ditching nightly partying in New York in order to focus on his game. Well, apparently all it took was a one-game suspension and a tough Game 4 loss for Smith to deviate from the straight and narrow. Pictures from April 28th and 29th — the two nights following...

Mike Woodson Upset About the Knicks All-Black Everything Attire

I am trying to figure out how Mike Woodson didn’t know about this. Kenyon Martin was shouting about it for days and it was all over the news. I guess he was so locked in on his work, that he wasn’t really paying attention, but once he found out after the Game 5 loss to the Celtics he was upset. “I’m a little upset about that, and I’ve addressed that,” Woodson said after...

Bill Simmons and Matthew Modine have odd exchange

As the New York Knicks continued to to choke away their 3-0 series lead during last night’s 92-86 loss to the Boston Celtics in Game 5, superfan and ESPN NBA “analysis” Bill Simmons decided it was time to poke fun at actor Matthew Modine on Twitter, who for years was a mainstay courtside for Knicks games: @billsimmons hey bill – I don’t know you. I’ve missed being at...

Knicks show up to Game 5 dressed for C's funeral

After the Knicks Game 4 loss to the Celtics, Kenyon Martin made a statement that urged his teammates to wear ‘funeral colors’ to Game 5 to show they were ready to finish off Boston. It looks like J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert got the memo because they arrived in all black everything, as did Kenyon. [Beyond The Buzzer] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Jordan Crawford To Melo: "That ************ ****** Your Wife"

You know things have gone horribly wrong when J.R. Smith is the one playing peacemaker. At home with a chance to close out the Celtics, the Knicks arrived at the arena wearing all black. They got destroyed. “Well, we was going to a funeral, but it looks like we got buried,” J.R. Smith said. “Basketball is a very humbling game.” After the game, Carmelo Anthony (22 points)...

Steve Novak Doubtful for Game 6

Knicks coach Mike Woodson tells the media Knicks sharp shooter, Steve Novak, is doubtful for tomorrow’s game in Boston. Novak has been officially listed as “questionable” by the organization. Novak is only averaging 8 minutes per game after playing in 19 per game last year. His field goal attempts are up from last year, though.  They have increased from 1.8 to a resounding...

Amar'e Stoudemire May Return In Game 3 Of Second Round

Mike Woodson said on Saturday it is unlikely that Amar'e Stoudemire returns to the New York Knicks in either of the first two games of their second round series against the Indiana Pacers. But Woodson did say Stoudemire might play in Game 3 of the series. Stoudemire has played just 29 games this season due to lingering knee injuries.

Raymond Felton Says Knicks Want to ‘Just Get This Over With’ as Celtics Try to Battle Back

The Knicks are not making brash claims anymore. J.R. Smith has silenced himself a bit since he boldly proclaimed that the Knicks’ series against the Celtics would be over if he had played in Game 4, and Kenyon Martin is not saying much of anything after telling his teammates to show up for Game 5 dressed in black for the Celtics’ funeral. Once confident to the level of almost...
