Washington-wizards-draft
So far, the Washington Wizards and their fans have had very little to get excited about.  The team is just  3-18 on the season.  They are hopelessly out of contention and have been for weeks now.  The one saving grace for them may be John Wall's return.  And the star point guard assured people yesterday that he did not believe his knee injury would keep him out for the entire season. According to Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner, Wall said there was no way he would miss the entire season, but once swelling subsides in his knee, there's still only a 50/50 chance that the knee will respond well enough for him to play.  However, Stouffer says Wall is expected to resume running and jumping activities today to see where his knee is in the recovery process. "I just feel like God is challenging me mentally, giving me a course like this to see if I can get through it," Wall said. "I have to sit back and wait."The former number one overall pick was expected to be the Wizards' savior.  And he still may be.  He just needs to get healthy.  Last season, Wall averaged 16.3 points per game.  In his rookie year, he averaged 16.4 points per game.  But he is more than just a scorer.  So far in his two NBA seasons, Wall has averaged 8.2 assists per game.  He makes things happen and the Wizards need that. The team and Wall still will not set an expectation for when the 22-year old may return to game action. However, if all goes well with him returning to practice, and if the swelling continues to subside, Wall could be playing by early next year.  The stress reaction he has been battling is a dangerous injury in the fact that if he tries to push it, he could suffer a fractured knee.  That would certainly cost him his entire season.
