With that said, I’m going to have to give it to Emeka Okafor with strong considerations going to Bradley Beal. Okafor easily had his best game as a Washington Wizard and set the tone early on for Washington’s inside presence. He also played extremely well on the defensive end of the floor and made it difficult for Orlando to get dribble penetration to the basket. He was truly a force in the paint for this Wizards team tonight and deserves every bit of credit he receives from me tonight. He also ran the floor really well and aided Washington in the fast break department where they outscored Orlando 29-4. Washington’s uptempo “run and gun” style of play really seemed to affect...

Bradley Beal Owns January

2013 – The Rise of the Beal   Bradley Beal has had an up and down season so far for this Washington Wizards team who has struggled to find an identity with John Wall sidelined until recently. On the year, he is averaging 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He is only shooting 38.4% from the floor and 35.4% from long range. Much of the ups and downs can be contributed...

The Wizards have made it clear that they won't move Bradley Beal, according to his agent.

Wizards 120, Magic 91

Emeka Okafor had 19 points and 11 rebounds, leading six players in double figures for Washington in a 120-91 victory over the Orlando Magic on Monday night for the Wizards' third straight win. The Wizards were just 4-28 before their streak, but beat Oklahoma City, Atlanta and now Orlando - all at home - to nearly double their wins total. Washington leaves Tuesday on a five-game...

Agent: Bradley Beal Has Not Been Mentioned In Trade Talks Involving Rudy Gay

Wizards rookie guard Bradley Beal has not been mentioned in trade discussions with the Memphis Grizzlies involving swingman Rudy Gay, according to Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein. The Memphis Commercial-Appeal reported Monday that the Grizzlies have “entertained” an offer from the Wizards that would include Beal in a larger package.”I’ve talked to both teams. There is absolutely...

Bradley Beal Might Be Pretty Good

As best I can tell, today’s big news is the Wiz offered the Griz (Grizz?) Bradley Beal for Rudy Gay. A month or two ago that would not be the cause for much sturm und drang among Wizards fans (there are so many!), but take a look at Beal’s rookie season monthly splits: His minutes are up so of course his counting stats are up, but check out that field-goal percentage. That...

Washington Wizards Reportedly Offered Bradley Beal For Rudy Gay

Rudy Gay, of the Memphis Grizzlies, has been on the trade block for quite sometime; it was just last week when multiple scenarios presented last week with Gay and even teammate Zach Randolph. Ronald Tillery of The Commercial Appeal reports Bradley Beal was a centerpiece for a recent offer: For example, the Griz have entertained the [...]The post Washington Wizards Reportedly Offered...

Report: Wizards Include Bradley Beal In Package For Rudy Gay

According to a person with knowledge of those conversations, Gay is likely to remain a Grizzly through the end of this season. The message to Gay at the moment is that if he is dealt by the league’s Feb. 21 trade deadline, then the Griz will have been offered a no-brainer scenario. For example, the Griz have entertained the Washington Wizards’ offer for Gay. The crux of that...

Trading Youth for Age: A Losing Formula for a Rebuilding Team

Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that the Wizards entered the Rudy Gay bidding battle, making what was reportedly a “good” offer to Memphis.  Shortly thereafter, The Memphis Commercial Appeal published an article stating that Washington’s offer would have included Wizards rookie Bradley Beal. Although the rumor of Beal being packaged was quickly extinguished by Beal’s...
