NBA Matchup Insight

The Blazers have not lost 3 straight games at the Rose Garden in almost 4 seasons and to prevent that from happening they will have to beat a Wizards’ team that is coming off a win, but has the 2nd worst record in the Eastern Conference.

*NBA ATS Matchup Report*

On top of the bad record the Wizards have lost their last 6 games facing the Blazers in Portland.

Washington is coming off a blowout win, but that was facing a weak Detroit team and this season the Wizards have a grand total of 1 win facing team that have a winning record.

The Wizards have struggled on both sides of the court this season, as they rank 25th in the league in both scoring as well as defense. For Washington to pull off the HUGE upset they will need a good game on D and a solid offensive performance from the backcourt duo of Nick Young (17.3 ppg) and John Wall (16.2 ppg).

C JaVale McGee (11.6 ppg 5.9 rpg) is coming off a double-double and he must score some inside buckets so the Blazers do not stack the perimeter on defense.

He also has to hit the boards and that will be a lot easier if Portland leading rebounder Marcus Camby (9.6 rpg) cannot go because of an injured ankle.

LaMarcus Aldridge has been playing great and Gerald Wallace and Wesley Mathews have been helping out, but 6th man Jamal Crawfordwas ice cold from the floor in the Blazers last game.

Washington Wizards vs. Portland Trailblazers Betting Lines & Handicapping

Nicolas Batum (12.2 ppg) will get the start tonight if Camby cannot go and while he is better on offense he is not as good on the glass. If Camby gets the nod tonight I see the Blazers dominating the glass.

Wizards vs. Trail Blazers Free Prediction

This season the Blazers are 15-12-1 ATS with an O/U record of 13-15 and the Wizards are 9-19 ATS with an O/U record of 12-16.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Wizards are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall, 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog of 11 points or more, and they have an Under record of 13-6 in their last 19 road games.

The Blazers are 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 games as a home favorite, 19-7-2 ATS in their last 28 home games, and they have an Over record of 5-0 in their last 5 games.

Pick: Before the easy win over Detroit the Wizards were blown out in 3 of their last 4 games and they were all at home.

Tough to go with a team giving 15 points, but I think the Blazers will crush the Wizards and cover the big spread.
