1: Kansas City Chiefs2011 was a lost year for Kansas City, as they saw three of their best players (safety Eric Berry, running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Tony Moeaki) go down with season ending injuries early in the year. They later lost starting quarterback Matt Cassell in week 10 for the remainder of the season and saw head coach Todd Haley get fired late in the season. This resulted in a last place finish in the AFC West, disappointing for a team coming off of a playoff appearance. However, KC is poised for a big rebound season. This team has a lot of young talented players (players who led the team to the aforementioned playoff season in 2010) and will almost certainly have better injury luck than last season. The return of the explosive Charles, 2010’s rushing champ, will bolster a running game that has also added Peyton Hillis. If these guys can stay healthy, they will likely be the best running duo in the league. The passing game boasts the inconsistent but dangerous Dwa...

Matt Cassel touchdown celebration fail

Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Matt Cassel still hasn’t hit regular season form, at least when it comes to touchdown celebrations. Cassel threw a touchdown pass to running back Dexter McCluster in a preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks and went to celebrate by jumping on his back. The problem for Cassel is that the celebration moved about two feet to the left while...

Chiefs' new-look offense has plenty of options

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Matt Cassel took the snap from center, scanned the practice field as he dropped back to pass and just for a moment must have felt like a little boy on Christmas morning. There was Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles coming out of the backfield and Dwayne Bowe heading for the sideline. Dexter McCluster was out in the flat, tight end Kevin Boss was coming over...

Let’s get one thing about this post straight.  This is not a love song.  If reading that once didn’t get the point across, you can click on the link to get a fuller meaning of what I’m saying.  What it IS is me calling out Matt Cassel just as I’m sure the coaches in Kansas City are doing.  The fans have already spoken their feelings about Cassel, having booed him at a...

The Dependables 2: Offensive Line

Sequels are almost never as good as the first one and a title like “The Dependables 2: Offensive Line” could not possibly be as good as the first article “The Dependables”, but you watch them anyway or in this case read them, because it’s the most dependable offensive linemen in the history of the NFL.
