In less than an hour, the first round of the NFL's 2013 draft will get underway.  Tonight's action won't be as exciting for Seahawks fans, since the team traded its first round pick for all-around offensive stud Percy Harvin, but if there's anything we've learned from Schneider and Carroll's previous three drafts it's that nothing should be taken for granted.  The odds of Seattle trading back up into the first round are pretty slim, but they have ten draft picks this year and not nearly enough open roster spots to go around.  If someone they covet drops into the lower first round, don't be surprised if they make a deal to go get him. I won't be near a computer for the opening part of the draft, but once I return home I'll be keeping an eye on the festivities and post updates if anything Seahawks-relevant occurs.  If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see what choices the rest of the NFC West will make this year.  Will the Rams final...

Seattle Seahawks: 2013 NFL mock draft

Building the core of the Seattle Seahawks roster has already been accomplished in the last three drafts. It’s time to make the final moves to get this team in the Super Bowl in 2013, and still have enough talent to repeat in 2014.  Let’s get to my Seattle Seahawks 2013 NFL mock draft and see who the Seahawks might target on draft day. 56. Seattle Seahawks select: Quinton...

Love ‘em & Hate ‘em – Seahawks 2013 2nd + 3rd round picks

Welcome to the family The Seattle Seahawks were without a first round pick in an NFL Draft for the 4th time in team history. That of course was a casualty of the Percy Harvin deal. With no first round pick, it makes the next best pick, the second round pick, all that more intriguing. Do the Seahawks go for positions of need or do they draft the best available overall player? Or do...

Potential Seattle Seahawks 2013 draft picks on day 2

Day 1 in the books We got Harvin! Before I get into the potential day 2 picks for the Seattle Seahawks, I want to take a look at a couple things that happened on day 1. Before the draft, I took to Twitter and Facebook a question to gauge Percy Harvin’s value compared to the talent in this year’s draft.  The results where slightly mixed; however, just about everyone agreed that...

Seattle Seahawks Have Signed Quarterback Jerrod Johnson

NFL News: The Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback Jerrod Johnson. The former Texas A&M QB, went undrafted in 2011 and has not made the regular season roster for an NFL team thus far. In 2011 he was brought into Philadelphia where he lasted only two weeks on the 90 man roster. In 2012, Johnson was signed to a reserves/futures contract with the Steelers. He’ll likely serve...

Seattle takes DT Jordan Hill in 3rd round of draft

The Seattle Seahawks have selected Penn State defensive tackle Jordan Hill with the No. 87 overall pick in the third round of the NFL draft. After surprising most by selecting a running back in the second round on Friday, the Seahawks went back with the expected in the next round. At 6-foot-1, 303 pounds, Hill fulfills Seattle's desire to continue adding depth on the defensive...

And with the 87th Pick, the Seahawks Take...

....Jordan Hill, defensive tackle, Penn State.  Hold your Sandusky jokes. This guy looks like Brandon Mebane, and plays like him, too - Hill stands at 6'1", weighs 303 pounds, has 33 1/2-inch arms, and is only 22 years old.  Talk about upside? This guy has it. Taken from the Penn State Athletics' website:  Jordan Hill has a non-stop motor and has set a...

Welcome to Seattle Christine Michael….RB Texas A&M

Headline: Seahawks 2nd round pick Seattle’s first pick in the 2013 draft (62nd overall) The Seattle Seahawks chose to trade their second round pick to the Baltimore Ravens, who selected ILB/OLB Arthur Brown.  In exchange, the Seahawks received the Ravens’ second round pick (62nd overall), as well as a fifth rounder (165 overall) and a sixth rounder (199 overall). Name: Christine...

Welcome to Seattle Jordan Hill…Defensive Tackle Penn St.

Headline: Seahawks 3rd round pick The Seattle Seahawks’ John Schneider and Pete Carroll shocked me once again when they selected troubled running back Christine Michael with their second round pick.  With Sio Moore and Khaseem Greene still on the board, I thought for sure they were going to draft one of those two players. Moore was drafted by the Oakland Raiders four picks later...

2013 Draft - Seahawks Trade 56th Overall Pick

As per usual, Schneider and Carroll insist on making us wait in the second round.  The Seahawks have just traded down with the Ravens.  In exchange for the 56th overall pick, the Seahawks received the 62nd (last in the second round), 165th (32nd in fifth round), and 199th picks (31st in sixth round) picks in this year's draft. Just four picks to go 'til Seattle is on...

QOTD: Who Won The 2013 New Nike NFL Uniforms Contest? Jaguars, Dolphins Or Vikings?

What transpired in 2012 for the Seattle Seahawks was nothing short of electric and awe-inspiring. From the emergence of a wavy-haired rookie quarterback from Wisconsin/NC State to the Skittles-loving dreadlocked beast of a tailback, to the hail-mary catch that was(n’t), to the ****-talking cornerback we all grew to hate love and a head coach who [...]The post QOTD: Who Won The...

2013 Draft -- Second and Third Round

Now that we're all done twiddling our thumbs waiting for the first round to end yesterday, we finally get to see the Seahawks make some picks when the draft starts back up at 3:30 Pacific.  Barring a trade, Seattle will be making the 24th pick in the second round (56th overall) and the 25th pick in the third round (87th overall), and despite yesterday's run on offensive...

Seahawks Receive a Pre-Draft Bonus

This April, the Seahawks didn't have to wait until the official start of the draft to pick up a little something special.  And no, I'm not talking about trading for Percy Harvin, or signing Cliff Avril, or even re-signing Clint Gresham (it's easy to take having a reliable long snapper for granted until you don't have one -- remember 2008?).  No, the big acquisition...
