The 49ers signed Brandon Carswell just on Wednesday. He wasted no time in introducing himself to the training staff. The receiver tore his right ACL during Thursday’s minicamp practice, his first practice with the team. So, now the 49ers need another pass catcher.
Enter Austin Collie.
But Collie himself has had far from a clean bill of health throughout his career, and the team wants to do its due diligence before signing him to a contract.
Harbaugh said “there are still a few more things we want to have checked out” before the team makes a decision on Collie.
That presumably refers to medical checkups for the receiver, who starred at Oak Ridge High in El Dorado Hills outside of Sacramento. Collie has had three concussions since joining the NFL in 2009. And he tore his pattelar tendon early last season for the Colts.
He worked out for the 49ers today and looked good, according to Harbaugh. “He had a pattelar tear seven and a half months ago and he’s very far along,” Harbaugh said.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano doesn’t want to rush Bradshaw.
“There’s no need to rush him,” Pagano said per the Indy Star.

For some reason, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is a goofy-looking dude and last night, he made an appearance at the Indiana Children's Wish Fund at Victory Field for a charity softball game.

The Indianapolis Colts are done with minicamp.
However, they still have work to do to get ready for the regular season.
The Colts ended their mandatory three-day camp Thursday with unfinished business as players headed for home.
''You have to stay in the mental part, you have to stay in the physical part, you can't just stop,'' coach Chuck Pagano said. '...

Rarely does a signing in early June of an injury-prone running back who will be a complementary back to the previous season's starter matter much. But, the Indianapolis Colts signing of Ahmad Bradshaw on Tuesday will make a larger impact on the season than you may have originally thought when you saw the...
Running back Ahmad Bradshaw returned to Lucas Oil Field on Wednesday for the first time since he scored the winning touchdown in the 2012 Super Bowl for the New York Giants.
The newest member of the Indianapolis Colts donned his familiar No. 44, but wore a gray walking boot on his right foot. Bradshaw, signed to a one-year deal Tuesday, is still rehabbing from January foot surgery...
Indianapolis Colts linebacker Robert Mathis wasn't all that thrilled being called for an offside penalty on the final day of minicamp this week.
''I'm not exactly happy with that,'' Mathis said with a laugh.
The official that made the call? Sarah Thomas, who is on her way toward becoming the first permanent female official in the NFL. It could happen as...
The Indianapolis Colts surprised everyone last season with their storybook run to the AFC Playoffs. After finishing with the NFL’s worst record in 2011, the catalyst for their quick turnaround in 2012 was stability at the quarterback position in the form of Andrew Luck. They still lacked one key element — a running game — that prevented them from taking the next step. The Colts...

It took a few days to hash out the contract formalities but the writing was on the wall after the Colts brought Ahmad Bradshaw in for a look. He is now going to be the starting running back, barring health concerns, of which he has many. The big question everyone will have is how healthy [...]
