Tomorrow isn't promised, so seize today should be the motto of the Victor Cruz camp. Cruz is a hot commodity now, but one bad season and he could see dollars fly away like paper in the wind. The Giants are offering Cruz $7 million a year, however, the receiver seems to be holding out for more cash. Someone is telling Cruz to keep squeezing the New York Giants, but if history tells us anything, 'its take the money and run.'   According to the New York Daily news, former receiver Giants receiver Steve Smith should serve as an example of never taking the future for granted. The New York Daily writes: 'Here’s where Cruz must be smart. Smith was headed for a big contract with the Giants late in the 2010 season — there were reports he turned down a five-year $35 million offer with $15 million guaranteed — before he suffered a major knee injury that December. Once Smith was hurt, the Giants’ big-money offer was off the table. Smith denied knowledge of the offer,...

  • Nobody else has offered him a dime so he had better take the money the Giants have offered. The Giants FO doesn't play foolish games so he isn't getting a better offer. Since nobody else can sign him unless the Giants agree to terms he may as well take the money he was offered. This is when the business side of the game pisses me off. Just sign the damn contract Cruz!!!!
