Found December 20, 2011 on The Sports Bank:
For most of the 2011 season, the Green Bay Packers’ Aaron Rodgers has been the odds-on favorite to win his first MVP award. With the Packers losing against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Saints’ Drew Brees making a run at Dan Marino’s all-time passing record, it may not be as clear cut of a race as we thought. However, if we go back just a few years ago, you can see that Rodgers has compiled a resume similar to what Tom Brady did during the 2007 season, a year in which Brady won the first of his two MVP awards. If Rodgers plays in the final two games of the season, I think the argument can be made that Rodgers has actually had the better season, even though the Packers won’t finish undefeated and he won’t throw 50 touchdowns. There’s a number of reasons that Rodgers projects to have put together a better year than what Tom Brady did during his 2007 MVP season. Instead of looking at just wins and touchdowns, a statistical comparison across the board actually favors Rodgers. Not only ...

Aaron Rodgers Woos Grandmas

There’s something about Green Bay. It’s special. Really, really special. Take this scenario for example: A few weeks ago, my dad sent me the link for the amazingly hilarious Aaron Rodgers Associated Bank commercials that were gaining popularity in Green Bay. Living in Minneapolis, all I get to see are the lousy save the stadium ads, and this was a comical relief that was both...

Bonus video of the day: Patriots QB Tom Brady talks about the Dolphins and the playoffs

The Patriots spent yesterday discussing the Dolphins recent string of success and about how they don’t care about their playoff seed right now. They are focused on Saturday and worrying about everything else later. QB Tom Brady hit on both of those topics. Check out my video:

Rodgers named Male Athlete of the Year

When Aaron Rodgers needs to rekindle the feelings that drove his rise from a junior college quarterback to Super Bowl MVP, he doesn't have to look too far. Rodgers held on to the many rejection letters he received from marquee college programs as he was coming out of high school. Even today, he leaves a few of them sitting out at his house. ''I chose the couple that...

Aaron Rodgers named AP Male Athlete of Year

After an MVP performance in the Super Bowl and a 13-0 run to begin the season, is it really a surprise that Aaron Rodgers unanimously took home another prestigious award? I think not. On Wednesday, Rodgers was named the Associated Press 2011 Male Athlete of the Year. The Packers’ quarterback received 112 votes out of 212 ballots, beating out Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander...

Is Tom Brady an Afterthought in NFL MVP Talks?

Yesterday, the crew got together and debated who should be selected as the NFL MVP for 2011. The three players in the debate were Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, and New England Patriots QB Tom Brady. All three quarterbacks are leading their respective teams to the playoffs. The Packers are 13-1, the Saints are 11-3, and the Patriots...

Tuesday Morning Quarterback: Ranking the NFL's signal callers after Week 15

Aaron Rodgers, after 13 consecutive weeks at No. 1, loses one game and now has company. Really, how do you differentiate between Rodgers, Drew Brees and Tom Brady?

And now, an update on how the better half live, in particular how one superstar NFL quarterback and his supermodel wife live: the final touches are presently being completed on Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen’s 22,000-square-foot mansion in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, and given the preliminary details provided by (via Shutdown Corner), [...]

Pats Defense: Becoming An On Field Security System

Tom Brady, Wes Welker and Rob Grokowski have been carrying the Patriots this season. The offense as a whole has been clicking—leading to an 11-3 record and six-game winning streak. Coach Bill Belichick and his defensive coaching staff had to deal with injuries, inexperience and players not playing at a high level. Still they have been able to overcome all of that to be in good...

Wee 15 Fantasy Football Recap: Patriots vs Broncos

New England Patriots – 41, Denver Broncos – 23 Let’s not crown a new prince of the NFL just yet, as Tom Brady (322 total yards, 3 TDs) showed that he’s still the cream of the crop in this league, beating down Tim Tebow (287 total yards, 2 TDs) and a Broncos team that hung for most of the first half before being clearly out-classed by a better team.  Brady was his picture...

Rodgers or Favre? Choice is easier than you think

The Bears fare better than most teams against Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but it was more fun for them to play against Brett Favre. Even at his best, Favre often would give the Bears a chance by making an ill-advised throw while trying to make something out of nothing. Walt Harris, Barry Minter...

I just took my weekly Monday morning browse through r/NFL, and here are the most entertaining moments from Week 15 that are now immortalized online in GIF or video form. Let’s kick the festivities off with my favorite animated GIF from Week 15. It’s Lance Moore’s “swag dance” in the end zone after scoring one of his two touchdowns against the Vikings.
