Only in the wild and wacky NFL could we have a week like this past one. The Colts, fresh off their most inspirational win in awhile, came out flat as a pancake against the New York Jets. The Tennessee Titans, left for dead after bumbling their way to another loss in Minnesota, somehow took down the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. And strangest of all, the previously undefeated Houston Texans get thrashed at home at the hands of a demoralized and undermanned Green Bay Packers squad.

The Titans surrendered 363 yards through the air to Ben Roethlisberger, but completely shut down the Steelers running game en route to a last second 26-23 win on Thursday night. Tennessee also benefited from a steady performance by Matt Hasselbeck who threw for 290 yards. Most encouraging for Tennessee was the performance of RB Chris Johnson who came into the game struggling again to return to the form of two years ago. Johnson averaged 4.8 yards per carry. That allowed the Titans to extend drives which had previously bogged down and gave a respite to their defense. The Titans will try to make it two in a row when they travel to Buffalo this week.

Houston ran into a Green Bay squad that had just lost a heartbreaker the previous week in Indianapolis as well as RB Cedric Benson, WR Greg Jennings and DT BJ Raji. Aaron Rodgers, however, was still the quarterback and that was the difference.

Rodgers looked every bit the MVP caliber quarterback as he riddled the Texans' pass defense for 338 yards and six touchdowns. Jordy Nelson caught three of those and Randall Cobb stepped up for his first 100 yard receiving game as a pro.

The Packers' defense, after allowing Donald Brown to run effectively, held Arian Foster to just 1.7 yards per carry. Houston will try to get back into their winning ways when they host the Baltimore Ravens in a matchup between the AFC's two best records.

Jacksonville was off this week, but returns to action at Oakland this week.

This week in the AFC South showed why Las Vegas is such an opulent city. In the NFL, just when you think you've got things figured out, a week like this happens.
