Heading into week seven, here’s a look at some players with increased roles on the horizon and some elite fantasy options on the brink of return. Here’s who to target in your race to the waiver wire; week six edition: Get em while you can Harry Douglas, WR, Atlanta Falcons: 36% owned in Yahoo! - With the season ending injury to Julio Jones and Roddy White continuing to struggle to get healthy, Douglas essentially went from WR3 to number one on the depth chart. - Tony Gonzalez will almost certainly garner the majority of Matt Ryan‘s attention, but Douglas has 219 yards on the season and is bound to see increased attention. Brandon Jacobs, RB, New York Giants: 25% owned in Yahoo! - The Giants played Thursday and don’t play again until next Monday, which may allow David Wilson to return from injury. - Either way Jacobs would be line for a fair share of work and with that coming against the Vikings, could be in for a productive Monday. - Pick him up especially if you’re regular starter’s status is in question heading into week seven. Keenan Allen, WR, San Diego Chargers: 33% owned in Yahoo! - Another touchdown on Monday night, the third round pick is clearly becoming Philip Rivers favourite option, after Antonio Gates. - Rivers is still looking good, making Allen a pretty good play on a week to week basis. Josh Freeman, QB, Minnesota Vikings: 10% owned in Yahoo! - Before now, there was no reason whatsoever to own Josh Freeman. - Now, there is. Matt Cassel has failed in his attempts to take over for Christian Ponder, meaning Freeman’s chance may be coming soon. - He has better options in Minnesota than in Tampa Bay in Greg Jennings, Jerome Simpson and Cordarrelle Patterson. While chemistry and success certainly aren’t guaranteed, the value of all four could soon be on the rise. Percy Harvin, WR, Seattle Seahawks: 43% owned in Yahoo! - He’s out for the Vikes Thursday night tilt this week, but a return in week eight, is certainly a possibility. - Upon return he instantly becomes the number one threat in Seattle and an obvious fantasy start. - If your’s was one of the few leagues to let him slip through the cracks on draft day, now is the time to pounce. Michael Crabtree, WR, San Francisco 49ers: 7% owned in Yahoo! - A consolation prize to Harvin, Crabtree is likely out a little longer. - Even so, once he returns he’ll be re-untied with Colin Kaepernick and will be counted on to rejuvenate a somewhat struggling Niners passing attack. - A little early, but you won’t want to miss out on him, or worse, have the same guy pick up both he and Harvin. Act now. With an almost imminent return, Harvin is set to become one of the better fantasy plays at WR. (Photo: USATSI)   Next best thing: Chris Ogbonnaya, RB, Cleveland Browns: 4% owned in Yahoo! - He started at fullback for the Browns against Detroit, but was also the primary passing down back. - Willis McGahee was never a permanent solution at runningback for the Trent Richardson-less Browns and with Ogbonnaya producing, he could receive more work in weeks to come. Mikel LeShoure, RB, Detroit Lions: 3% owned in Yahoo! - With Theo Riddick and Joique Bell injured, LeShoure got his first two carries of the year. - Certainly doesn’t say too much, but the Lions have made two runningbacks productive most of the season. If the others remain out, LeShoure is a worthwhile grab and play behind Reggie Bush. Joseph Fauria, TE, Detroit Lions: 3% owned in Yahoo! - He’s the Lions number two tight end and nearly has as many TD’s as interceptions (5 vs. 66), but he is a clear favourite of Matthew Stafford in short-yardage redzone situations. - He’s boom or bust, but if you’re desperate for a bye week filler, pick him up and hope for a touchdown or two. Joseph Randle, RB, Dallas Cowboys: 6% owned in Yahoo! - With DeMarco Murray likely out for a while, Randle becomes the Cowboys’ starting runningback. - The news gets even better, with Dallas facing the sieve run defenses of Philadelphia, Detroit, Minnesota, New Orleans and New York in the next five weeks.   With Murray sidelined, and Lance Dunbar remaining a scatback, the road is paved for Randle to be productive in weeks to come with a favourable schedule. (Photo: USA Today Sports) Worth a shot: Jonathan Stewart, RB, Carolina Panthers: 7% owned in Yahoo! - He’s likely out until the end of October at best and even still, will share carries with DeAngelo Williams upon return. - That said, in deeper leagues Stewart is worth a stash, as Williams (394 yards, zero touchdowns) certainly hasn’t earned a full workload going forward. Jarrett Boykin, WR, Green Bay Packers: 2% owned in Yahoo! - Boykin did not look good this week. He caught just one of six passes, but it was a 43 yarder (his first yards of the season). - But with potentially both James Jones and Randall Cobb missing the Pack’s week seven contest against Cleveland, he does have a chance to be Aaron Rodgers second option behind Jordy Nelson. That guy is always worth having. TJ Graham, WR, Buffalo Bills: 0% owned in Yahoo! - While he he caught four passes for 74 yards on Sunday he remains third on the Bills receiver depth chart. - That being said, with Johnson’s status for week seven likely to be in doubt most of the week, Graham did show clear chemistry with Buffalo’s backup QB Thaddeus Lewis. If Lewis starts and Johnson doesn’t, Graham could be a decent play. The post Race to the Waiver Wire; Week Six appeared first on Fantasy Sports Locker Room.
